PhotoshopRequest Bot
This app provides post status processing for r/photoshoprequest.
This system has two main goals:
- To help prevent posts from being left hanging, and
- To keep track of and highlight the editors in this sub who consistently do good work.
A post is considered abandoned when the original poster (OP) either deletes it without saying anything or just disappears, leaving everyone guessing if they were happy with anyone's work.
All requests posted in this subreddit will fall into one of the following four statuses:
1. Ongoing
- Default Status: Every new request starts as Ongoing, with either the Free or Paid. flair, depending on the requester's preference.
- Conditions for Remaining Ongoing: Requests remain in this status until one of the following occurs:
- The requester marks it as Solved or Unsolved.
- 72 hours pass without any update or action.
- Limit: Requesters can only have one Ongoing request at a time.
2. Solved
- When to Mark as Solved: Once a request has been successfully completed, the original poster (OP) must mark it as Solved.
- How to Mark as Solved:
- Top-Level Comment: OP can create a top-level comment with the command
!solved u/editorname, where the username of the editor who completed the request is specified. Multiple solvers can be included in one command (e.g., !solved u/editorname1 u/editorname2).
- Reply to Editor’s Submission: OP can reply to the editor’s submission with the command
!solved, which will assign that editor as the solver.
3. Unsolved
- When to Mark as Unsolved: If OP is not satisfied with the submissions or has not received any submissions, they can mark the request as Unsolved.
- How to Mark as Unsolved: OP must use the command
!unsolved to indicate they are not satisfied with the outcome.
- Automatic Unsolved: If no valid submissions are received after 72 hours, the request will be automatically marked as Unsolved and will remain open indefinitely.
- Impact of Too Many Unsolved Requests: Requesters with too many Unsolved requests may be subject to posting review. Basically, if you have a clear history of marking requests and setting them as unsolved and it looks like you're just wasting people's time,
4. Abandoned
- When a Request Becomes Abandoned: A request is marked as Abandoned if:
- It receives submissions, but the OP does not mark it as Solved or Unsolved within 72 hours.
- The post is deleted without being marked as Solved or Unsolved.
- Consequences: Requesters with an Abandoned post cannot make new requests unless they successfully appeal.
