This book can be seen as a common-sense presentation of key principles of general wisdom and practical social psychology. It also encourages the reader to seek truth through expanding one’s horizons in multiple directions and becoming familiar with the basic ideas of every kind of science. Those ideas and principles should then form a latticework of models that one should use when making decisions. Charlie warns against being too one-sided in one’s professional field and is confident that he owes his success in life to using a long checklist of correct mental models - which he shares with the reader.

I found myself coming to the same conclusions Munger did when reading the book. As far as written speeches are concerned, his is a page turner, and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Contains much wisdom but often repeats itself; I would probably have enjoyed this much more if I had spaced out reading it, say one chapter every week or so, and even better if I had actually listened to the talks instead, given the style of the writing.

This is the second time I read this book in full.

I love it and plan to get back to read it once a year.

Buffett and Munger changed my life.

This book is chock full of great advice from Charlie! I love the way he thinks, and in these speeches he explains his own thought processes in his own words. His speeches are also very entertaining, fully of witty sayings and amusing anecdotes.

A good compilation of talks from an obviously smart man. Here is some of his advice:

- Keep learning throughout your life.

- Be multi-disciplinary.

- Avoid vice.

- Sometimes asking yourself "what should I do" is more useful than asking yourself "What shouldn't I do". By removing bad outcomes you increase your chances to get a good outcome.

At the same time, I personally found only the last one bit to be really useful, as the rest is mostly obvious to anyone who reads books like this one.

The main issue of the book is that in reality the talk #11, the last one, makes the rest of the talks pretty much obsolete. as it mostly covers the same topics using the same examples and quotes. Frankly speaking, just reading that one talk gives you probably 90% of all the useful information of the book.

Much gratitude for Charlie’s insights from Demosthenes to working at the Buffet grocery store to “FIASCO: Blood in the Water” to Judith Rich Harris to Richard Thaler to multidisciplinary skills to “invert, always invert” to being a successful autodidact. A truly inimitable man whose life was lived with reason and a great sense of fairness (and humor). This book has profoundly influenced my life and henceforth, I will strive to also live with honor and great fortitude.

As is often the case, wealthy people feel that by virtue of accumulating a lot of money, they are wise about other things. He is wise but has many blind spots. He seems to endorse the power grab of our moron politicians at the expense of the US Constitution. He also holds high regard for unproven theory such as evolution. Still the read was enjoyable and worth the time and money.

An excellent look into the author’s thoughts and ideas collected over a lifetime of investment and study of human behaviour.

The ideas are set out unapologetically a boldly, not to serve as a definitive answer but a call for further work to be done in the field of psychology and human behaviour in investment.

An insightful take on human behaviour through economic behaviour and psychology. An apt reading in today’s world for all generations

Immense wisdom. The Print is beautiful, pocket size, crisp text and pages. Well presented. Minor comment would be tight margin that leaves almost no space for making notes.

It took me more time than usual to read this whole book, mainly because I had to stop, reflect and take so many notes on the wise pieces of advise shared by Charlie.

The text format is very user friendly , it seems as we're having a fireside chat. And he gives so many good examples from a long and eventful life

One of the best books I've read in a long while , definitely buying the paperback version for reading again in the future.
