A bunch of great short stories from a sci-fi master. While me and Niven may not see eye to eye politically, I always enjoy a ride through one - or many - of his universes. This book contains possibly my favorite short story of his ever, 'The Hole Man', among many other enjoyable and thought provoking reads.

Larry Niven develops a lot of neat ideas in this collection of short stories. My only issue with this book is how awful almost every single character is. It seems in the future everybody is a murderer or a criminal.

Really had fun with these stories. Full of seemingly crazy, but rooted in bleeding edge hard science, ideas and their consequences. Highly recommended.

What can I say... it's LARRY NIVEN after all!

Science fiction fans will love these classic stories from the golden age of short science fiction stories.

Larry Niven is the finest "Hard scienceFiction writer ever. His Known Space series of books can be read over and over without fail. "A Hole in Space" details stories from that universe and provides many examples from different eras of Known Space. I also recommend another anthology, "Tales from Known Space", which contain similar stores.

Some stories are quite interesting and leave me wanting more. Obviously his stories have built up a list of characters and ideas that been built up overs the years. If I had been reading his stories from the beginning I would understand some of the ideas that I do not. I would like to see the development of the various star drives.

Back in the 1970s Larry Niven was one of the top "hard" science fiction writers and he was certainly one of my big favs. Most of these stories derive from that time period and they are really good stories, interesting and fun to read. Later on, Niven's writing deteriorated and you will also see that almost everything he did was a collaboration. His quality became hit-or-miss after that time; perhaps mostly misses.

But these are all pretty good stories. None of Niven's prognostications show any prospect of actually coming true, but they are still fun to read. RJB.

Esperava mais deste autor e deste livro. Não é de todo ruim, mas exige do leitor (pelo menos no meu caso) condições especiais de forçar a atenção, o que eu espero que não seja necessário em uma obra que se lê apenas por prazer (evidentemente a situação é diferente na leitura, por exemplo, para estudar).
