Customized Sales Scripts

Summary

Customized sales scripts are tailored conversation frameworks that guide sales professionals through different scenarios, helping them address common objections and connect authentically with prospects. These scripts are designed to make sales interactions more relatable and relevant, rather than sounding robotic or generic.

  • Build objection responses: Identify the most frequent objections using your sales data and develop specific scripts to address each category before they come up in conversation.
  • Personalize the script: Adapt the language and structure of your script to match the personality and communication style of the salesperson, making the conversation feel natural and engaging.
  • Practice and refine: Regularly rehearse scripts in role-play scenarios and update them based on real-world feedback and changing buyer behaviors.

Tom Brady didn't improvise his way to seven rings. He studied film until defenders couldn't surprise him. He had answers before the snap. Sales is the same job with different uniforms. I've analyzed 500+ lost deals. Almost every objection falls into 7 categories: price, priority, authority, "we use X," budget freeze, compliance, timeline. Most reps lose to objections they've heard 50+ times because they have no compiled response. Here’s what to do: 1.) Extract The 7 Classes From Your CRM. Filter: Closed-Lost, last 90 days. Read loss reasons on 50 deals. Tag each: Price: "Too expensive," "outside budget" Priority: "Not important right now," "other initiatives" Authority: "Need more stakeholders," "not my decision" Switching cost: "We already use X," "too much work to change" Budget freeze: "Budget locked," "no money until Q3" Compliance: "Security review needed," "legal concerns" Timeline: "Need it sooner," "timeline doesn't work" Count frequency. Your top 3 probably kill 60%+ of deals. You have the data. Now compile responses before the objection lands. 2.) Build Three Scripts Per Class. When a buyer says "price is too high," they mean one of three things: "I want this but need confidence it'll work" → Give them proof it works and a pilot to test it. "The stated objection isn't the real problem" → Ask a question that surfaces what they're actually worried about. "I'm scared of making the wrong decision" → Remove the decision cost with pilot terms. Here's what that looks like: "Price is too high": Script 1: "If we cut your time-to-ROI in half at the same price, still too high?" (Pause) "Here's how we did that for [customer in their industry]." (Share proof) "Worth a 14-day pilot?" Script 2: "Is the constraint total budget, cash timing, or risk if this doesn't deliver?" Script 3: "14 days, $X spending cap, walk away if [metric] doesn't hit [threshold]. No questions asked." "We already use X": Script 1: "If we improve [their core metric] 30% with zero migration risk, worth two weeks side-by-side to test it?" Script 2: "What keeps you with X - contract terms, integration complexity, or change management risk?" Script 3: "Limited seats so nothing breaks, preserve all integrations, explicit rollback plan in writing before you start." Apply this to your top 3 objections. Takes 90 minutes. You have now successfully eliminated 90%+ of the guesswork.

The Most Effective B2B Phone Script I've Ever Used... Most phone scripts fail for one simple reason, They were written for a buyer who no longer exists. Today’s prospects are overloaded, over-messaged, and instantly defensive the moment a call feels scripted or self-serving. So if you’re still using the old “Hi, my name is…” playbook, you’re not just behind, you’re irrelevant. In my opinion, people don’t agree to appointments because of your pitch. They agree because of how you make them feel in the first 10 seconds. Once you understand that, everything about appointment-setting changes. Below are my recommendations and how I train both new and seasoned selling professionals. 📞 The Script: The “Micro-Relevance + Insight First” Pattern "Hi ____, this is ____ with XYZ Company. Your time is valuable, so I’ll keep this brief. I’m reaching out because I noticed ________ (trigger event). When companies are in that situation, they’re usually trying to solve "one" of two problems: 1. ________ or 2) ________. Which one is closer to what you’re dealing with right now?” Pause. Let them talk. Don’t interrupt. Then: “That makes sense — thank you. Just so you know, I’m "not" calling to sell you anything today. We’re helping several organizations in your exact situation, and there are usually 2–3 insights they find valuable immediately. If I walk you through them, you’ll know in under 10 minutes whether a deeper conversation makes sense. Does Tuesday morning or Thursday afternoon work better?” If they hesitate: “No problem, let’s keep it simple. All I need is 10 minutes to show you what others in your situation are doing differently. If it’s not useful, you never have to take another call from me. Fair?” Why This Script Works (The Psychology Behind It) 1. You create psychological safety before you ask for anything. “Your time is valuable” lowers resistance. Buyers open up when they feel respected, not cornered. 2. You anchor the conversation to a trigger event. Modern buyers respond to "signal-based outreach", not generic claims. Specificity = credibility. 3. You use a binary choice to break their avoidance pattern. When you ask, “Which one is closer to what you’re dealing with?” The brain shifts from "escape" to "selection." 4. You remove the sales threat entirely. “I’m not calling to sell you anything today.” This resets their emotional posture and pulls them into dialogue. 5. You offer insight, not a meeting. Prospects don’t want more appointments. They want help. They want to feel more informed. 6. You reduce risk to nearly zero. “You’ll know in under 10 minutes.” Short. Safe. Easy. That’s why they say yes... This is the new standard that I personally use. Not pressure. Not persuasion. Precision. Psychology. Relevance. Insight. If you want more appointments, stop sounding like someone who wants a meeting and start sounding like someone who understands the world your buyer lives in...

❌ “Scripts don’t work.” ❌ “I don’t want to sound robotic.” ❌ “I just speak from the heart.” ↳ If you’ve ever said (or heard) those words… you might be unknowingly handicapping your sales team. Here’s the truth ⇢ Scripts can be one of the most powerful tools in a salesperson’s arsenal—if you understand what they’re really for. 💡 First, let’s redefine “script.” A great script is NOT a word-for-word teleprompter. It’s a framework — a carefully crafted sequence of words, questions, and transitions that keeps you on track and positions you to win the conversation. Think of it like a championship playbook. The plays are mapped out… but the players still read the defense and adjust in real-time. X Here’s why scripts are so powerful: 1️⃣ They build confidence. When you know what’s coming next, you don’t fumble for words. That confidence shows, and prospects feel it. 2️⃣ They protect you from costly mistakes. No more forgetting key questions. No more skipping the close. The essentials are baked in. 3️⃣ They free your brain to listen. Ironically, scripts don’t make you robotic—they make you more present. You’re not worrying about “what do I say next?” so you can fully tune in to the prospect. X The “robotic” myth. Bad scripts are robotic. Good scripts are alive. They’re built on real conversations, refined through testing, and delivered in your own voice. Read that again: in your own voice. If you gave your top salesperson a proven script and recorded them, they’d still sound natural—because they own the words. They’ve practiced enough that it flows like muscle memory. ↳ Pro Tip: Write like you talk. If your script reads like a legal document, it’s doomed. Write it the way you’d explain it to a friend over coffee. Then refine for flow, clarity, and emotional impact. X How to make scripts work for your team: ✅ Start with a proven framework. Don’t reinvent the wheel—start with what works, then adapt. ✅ Customize for personality. Let reps tweak language to match their natural style (within boundaries). ✅ Drill it until it’s second nature. Practice in role-play. Then practice again. ✅ Update regularly. Scripts are living documents—keep refining based on results and objections. Here’s what happens when you get this right: 💬 Your team stops winging it. 📈 Close rates climb. 🕒 Ramp-up time for new hires drops dramatically. 💪 Confidence soars. And the best part? You’re no longer relying on “magical” individual talent. You have a repeatable process that scales. Bottom line: A great script isn’t a cage—it’s a launchpad. It gives your team the structure they need and the freedom to connect authentically. So the next time you hear, “I don’t need a script”… ask this: ⇢ If a script can help you close more deals, why wouldn’t you want one?

I'm not a scriptwriting guru, but I've analyzed $2M+ in DTC ad spend, and these patterns separate brands that scale from brands that struggle. The scripts that work don't sound like scripts. They sound like your best friend telling you about something that changed their life. "This serum literally saved my skin" beats "Our clinically-proven peptide complex delivers results." Every winning script follows the same playbook: Start with a problem they're obsessing over. Make them nod before you sell anything. Speak like a human, not a Harvard MBA. Show proof from real people. Address the voice in their head saying "but what if..." End with one simple action, not a corporate dissertation. Brands crushing it? Their ads feel like testimonials from friends. The ones burning cash? Still writing like they're pitching investors. If your scripts sound like they came from a boardroom instead of a group chat... That's your problem. Write like you talk. Sell like you care. Which script style is your brand using?

I just built a cold-calling system that draws on all my favourite sales books and tells you exactly what to say. Most reps fail at cold calling, not because they can't dial. It's because they're winging it every single time. No script. No framework. Just hoping they sound confident and know what to say when the prospect picks up. Here's what I built: A system that maps every signal type (job opening, leadership change, funding, profile visit) to the exact talk track you should use. It tells you which opener to use, which discovery questions to ask, which framework fits the persona, and how to handle the 5 most likely objections before you even dial. It synthesises Carnegie, Voss, Belfort, Blount, Keenan, Cialdini, LaManna, and 5 others into one decision tree. Here's how it works: You feed it the prospect's LinkedIn profile, company size, and any signal (or no signal). It spits out a complete 60- to 90-second talk track with tonality guidance, pause markers, and objection responses, ready to go. Example: Signal: Job opening for 3 AE roles Persona: CRO at Series A company Framework: SPICED plus MEDDIC Opener: "Saw you just posted 3 AE roles. Guessing pipeline coverage is tight right now?" Discovery: 3 questions mapped to their pain Objections: 5 pre-loaded responses Close: Assumptive two-choice close The entire script takes 2 minutes to generate. You review it, dial with confidence, and either book the meeting or disqualify fast. No more freezing. No more fumbling. No more hoping you say the right thing. I built this because I was tired of inconsistent results. Some calls were great. Some were terrible. It came down to whether I happened to say the right thing at the right time. Now every call is structured. Every objection is handled. Every close is confident. I ❤️ tech! -JB GTM Digital

Our sales team closed over $30mm ARR, and there’s one document that we required on every complex deal. The deals we lost all had something in common: Our champion went into a room without us, and they didn’t have the words. They believed in the product and the wanted the deal to happen. But when the CFO asked “why this vendor?” or the CEO asked “why now?” They couldn’t give a great answer. Because they are not prefessionas at selling our product, and they don’t have much practice getting approval to buy software. The best thing I ever did for our close rate was accept the fact that the decision gets made in meetings you’re not invited to. Your champion has to sell for you. They have to explain why this problem matters, why your solution is the right one, why the timing is right, and why the price is fair. If you don’t give them those words, they’ll make something up. Or worse, they’ll say nothing. That’s why we built every complex deal around one document: the Executive Summary. This is a script for your champion. Here’s what it included: 1. Summary of the Partnership: What we’re doing together and why it matters 2. Key Stakeholders: Who’s involved and who needs to approve 3. Current Challenges: The pain the business is facing today 4. Desired Outcomes: What success looks like 5. Why Us: Why we’re the best fit to solve this 6. Expected ROI: The business case in real numbers 7. Commercial Terms: Price, timeline, next steps Don’t wait until last stage of the sales cycle to build this with your champ. Start it after the first discovery call and refine it throughout the deal. By the time our champion walked into that room, they were prepared. And they closed for us. Want the template we used? Drop “champion” in the comments or DM me. I’ll send it over.

90% of cold calls die in the first 10 seconds. Alex's are no different. So he sent me this: "Jonathan, my intros flop. Can you help?" Let's help him in public. This is Alex's original intro script: “Hey [Name], how are you? It’s Alex, do you have a minute? I’m calling from ABC Company. We are a company that helps B2B companies streamline their marketing and demand generation efforts. Are you available to have a quick discussion with me?” Let’s break it down: 1. “Hey [Name], how are you?” Feels too friendly, too soon. You’re not their friend, and they know it. Adds nothing. 2. “It’s Alex, do you have a minute?” Asking for time before showing value = fast “no.” 3. “I’m calling from ABC Company.” Neutral, but still no reason to care. 4. “We help B2B companies…” Generic. Vague. Buzzword soup. This is where the call dies. 5. “Are you available to have a quick discussion?” Another ask for time… after zero personalization. Dead air. Why this intro fails: No context or insight No reason to stay on the line No clear benefit to the prospect Here’s how I’d rewrite it: “Hey [Name], it’s Alex from ABC. I noticed you’ve been hiring marketers, are you focused more on brand or pipeline right now?” (pause) “The reason I’m calling is we helped [similar company] cut CAC by 27% by fixing the paid-to-outbound handoff. What’s the biggest challenge for your team there?” Why this version works: 1. Opens with context, short, clear, professional 2. Uses a relevant trigger (hiring) to grab attention 3. Adds social proof + insight 4. Ends with a real, open-ended question, not a pitch What would you change? What would you say differently? This community can help. Drop your version of this cold call intro below, Alex's will be reading! -- My DMs are open if you want to send me your cold calls intro! #sales Follow me @Jonathan for more real takes from the sales floor

Most sales managers give feedback like "be more confident" or "show more energy." But elite sales performance isn't about personality traits you can't control. It's about technical precision you can train. The real difference between top closers and everyone else: mastery of script and tone. Here's the 4-part system that transforms average reps into consistent performers. PART 1: SCRIPT SUPREMACY World-class teams use standardised scripts as documented records of the exact words that close deals. The goal is automaticity: breathe the script so your conscious mind focuses entirely on the prospect. The Blackout Method: 1️⃣ Read the script aloud from a master copy 2️⃣ Black out one word on your practice copy 3️⃣ Recite from memory, recalling the hidden word 4️⃣ Add one more blacked-out word after each success When you stop reading the script, you stop sounding scripted. PART 2: VOCAL TONALITY MECHANICS The Three Constants: • Loudness: If they can't hear you, they can't buy • Speed: 135-185 words per minute for confidence and clarity • Articulation: Clear enunciation builds trust The Two Variables: • Pauses: Short for emphasis, long to signal their turn • Pitch: Upward asks questions, downward makes statements PART 3: HIGH-LEVERAGE EXECUTION Discovery uses Pulling Teeth: alternate between "Can you give me an example?" and "Can you be more specific?" until you extract real information. The Close is an upward inflection question followed by 8 seconds of silence. Research shows salespeople who wait up to 8 seconds after asking for the sale close 30% more deals. Objection Handling uses a universal reframe: "I think the fact that you don't have time is the very reason you should do it." PART 4: THE SYSTEM ADVANTAGE Superior performance equals Right Words plus Right Delivery. This system replaces "have more confidence" with "speak 15% louder." It transforms performance coaching from art into science. This framework works exceptionally well for transactional, high-volume sales where consistency MATTERS. If you're scaling a sales organisation and need rapid onboarding with consistent results, this methodology delivers. TL;DR: Elite sales performance comes from technical precision, not personality. The Blackout Method turns scripts into automaticity so reps stop sounding robotic. Vocal tonality mechanics and high-leverage execution frameworks make coaching scientific, not subjective. P.S. I didn't expect the Leadhunt.ai waitlist to grow this fast... 🫣 Thank you to everyone who's joined, it really means a lot! P.P.S. If you're still waiting to hear from me, I promise we'll get back to you within the next couple of days. Thank you for your patience and trust 💖

This sales script has helped me close, a lot. Not with fancy slides. Not with gimmicks. Just a clear structure that gets buyers to open up, not shut down. Here’s the exact framework I used: 1. Set the tone “Let’s make this conversational. I’ll ask a few questions to see if we can actually help. If not, I’ll point you in the right direction.” Low pressure. Builds trust. Removes sales tension. 2. Ask better questions Skip “What’s your budget?” Instead Ask: - “What’s your current process for X?” - “What’s working well and what’s breaking?” - “If nothing changes in 6 months, what’s at risk?” This uncovers their real pain. 3. Mirror and label When they say, “We’re wasting hours updating reports manually.” You say: “Sounds like the manual work is eating into your team’s focus.” They feel understood. Now they’re listening. 4. Frame the offer like a solution, not a pitch “Here’s what I’d do if I were in your shoes.” “You don’t need everything. Just [X] to fix [Y].” 5. Invite next steps “Want to map this out in more detail and see what it could look like?” “If the numbers work, we move. If not, no hard feelings.” What’s one question you always ask in a sales call?

Prospecting just changed forever. And no… this is not AI hype. This is real. Yesterday I gave Gemini 3 Pro one simple input: “Here is a company domain. Give me ICPs, decision makers, email patterns & DM scripts. What I got back honestly felt like a full SDR team working overnight. Here’s what Gemini delivered instantly 1. Exact ICPs Inside the Company Not generic roles… but roles relevant to my product (TransportOne): Head of Supply Chain SCM Director Plant Head VP Operations AGM/DGM Logistics COO / President Ops With: Their KPIs Pain points Why they would buy a TMS What problems I should pitch 2. Accurate Email Patterns It reverse-mapped the domain and gave: firstname.lastname@ firstname@ firstinitiallastname@ Then applied it to each persona. No Apollo. No scraping. Just logic. 3. LinkedIn Search URLs Not profiles But ready-made LinkedIn filters like: “Head of Logistics” + Company “SCM” + Company “Plant Head” + Company I Clicked and it was the exact people (No hallucination). 4. Personalized DM Scripts Every script was contextual, 150 chars max. Example: “Hi Pankaj, managing inbound parts across plants is complex. TransportOne unifies vendors + visibility. 5-min look?” Another: “Hi Neeraj, manual indenting slows ops. We automate vendor allocation + truck placement. Worth a quick look?” No fluff. No generic outreach. Actual conversion-level copy. 5. A 20-Row Table + A 50-Row Python Export Gemini gave me: Option A: Copy-paste Excel table (Company, ICP, Role, Email pattern, DM script, LinkedIn link) Option B: A Python script I can run it generates a TransportOne_Prospects.csv (50 rows). It literally automated the entire research process. What does this mean for SDRs & Founders? 1️⃣ Research time: 40 minutes to 40 seconds 2️⃣ Personalisation: Default setting 3️⃣ Pipeline: 4-5× faster 4️⃣ Skills shift: From manual effort To smart prompts 5️⃣ AI won’t replace SDRs. SDRs using AI will replace SDRs who don’t. Why this matters for SaaS & Manufacturing SCM personas are hard to find Manufacturing leaders don’t post online Email patterns vary across plants Logistics buyers respond only to context Multi-plant decision chains are confusing Gemini simplifies everything in one prompt. 400 leads. 400 personalized DMs. Email patterns. ICP breakdown. Export-ready CSV. All in under 10 minutes. Let that sink in. P.S. We use such advanced technology & AI Tools in our sales process, and we are hiring too. DM me or Bhawya for JD.
