B) Check for network outages, slow performance, or security alerts. C) Review bandwidth usage and network traffic patterns. 2. Reviewing Overnight Alerts & Logs A) Check firewall, router, and switch logs for unusual activity. B) Investigate failed login attempts, high CPU usage, or unusual traffic spikes. C) Coordinate with the Security Team if there are potential threats. 3. Responding to Emails & Support Tickets A) Address tickets from the IT helpdesk (connectivity issues, VPN problems, or firewall rule changes). You configure your first IP address and feel like a genius. Step-by-step guides are your Bible. 🔵 JUNIOR ENGINEER (1–2 yrs) VLANs, trunks, STP. You've broken the network at least once (okay, twice). Your default diagnosis? "It must be a Layer 2 issue." 😅 🟠 MID-LEVEL ENGINEER (2–4 yrs) BGP finally makes sense. Packet captures are your best friend. Coffee stops being optional it becomes a requirement. ☕ 🟣 SENIOR ENGINEER (4–6 yrs) You design and implement full networks. You mentor juniors. You know it's DNS 9 out of 10 times before anyone else does. 😎 🔴 NETWORK ARCHITECT (6–8 yrs) MPLS, SD-WAN, Cloud. You think in layers and patterns.
