Stripe Treasury combines your payments and finances so you can store, spend, and send money from a single place. Financial accounts are the core components of Treasury. They receive your settled Stripe earnings, hold funds, and power capabilities like physical or virtual cards, multi-currency management and conversion, and outbound payments to recipients internationally with Global Payouts. There are no monthly fees or minimum balance requirements to open or maintain a financial account.
A financial account can hold fiat balances such as USD, EUR, and GBP, and eligible businesses can also hold a stablecoin balance in USDC. The two work differently in terms of where they’re available and how you move money out, so check both. See Stablecoins in Treasury for an overview.
If you’re eligible, you can access your financial account on the Treasury page in the Stripe Dashboard or from the Dashboard mobile app, which is available for iOS and Android.

Your financial account is on the Treasury page in the Dashboard. On your Treasury page you have a payments balance and a financial account, which serve different purposes. For eligible businesses, payment proceeds settle in your financial account.
Availability
Treasury is available in the following countries:
- United States: Public preview
- United Kingdom: Public preview
- Australia: Private preview (Request access)
Stablecoin balances have separate eligibility and aren’t limited to these countries. Three things vary independently:
- Where you can open a financial account: the countries listed above.
- Where you can hold a stablecoin balance: the countries where stablecoin balances are available, including markets where fiat Treasury isn’t available. Stablecoin balances are in public preview in the US and in private preview in the other eligible countries.
- Where you can pay out a stablecoin balance: a separate list for bank accounts and for crypto wallets. See Move money from a stablecoin balance.

Stablecoins
Eligible financial accounts can hold a stablecoin balance in USDC in addition to fiat balances. This lets businesses receive, store, convert, and send funds in markets where fiat Treasury isn’t yet available. Stablecoin capabilities are in public preview in the US and in private preview in the other eligible countries.
For the concepts, the capabilities and their release phases, the supported assets and networks, and links to each task, see Stablecoins in Treasury. For eligible countries outside the US, see Access.
FDIC insurance eligibility US only
USD held in financial accounts can be eligible for FDIC pass-through deposit insurance, except for the following types of accounts:
- Primary accounts
- Accounts with a v1
Balanceobject wheretypeis null - Accounts with a v2
FinancialAccountobject wheretypeispayments - Accounts indicated in the Dashboard as ineligible for pass-through insurance
Funds that meet the requirements for pass-through insurance are eligible only when FDIC rules and regulations permit pass-through insurance. FDIC insurance covers up to 250,000 USD per depositor, per financial institution, for deposits held in the same ownership category.
FDIC deposit insurance coverage only protects against the failure of an FDIC-insured depository institution, and Stripe isn’t an FDIC-insured depository institution. Funds that qualify for FDIC pass-through deposit insurance are held at Fifth Third Bank, N.A., Member FDIC.
Roles and permissions
Treasury uses Stripe’s standard roles and permissions system. Administrator access is required to add funds and manage financial account settings.
