7 out of 10 of my projects start with fixing what most people ignore. This includes: - making copy easier to read - making images informational - making product name impactful Simple, but yet forgotten. In this post, using URturms example, I'll be sharing 11 underestimated changes that can increase your website sales. 1. Adding breadcrumbs. Important if you drive ad traffic to the PDP directly. They take shopper to the parent category page. Reducing bounce rate. 2. Adding a badge. Like "Bestseller", "Most Loved", "Few Left". This reassures the shopper that they're making the right decision. 3. Making images easier to swipe. Add a sneak peek of the next image along with navigation dots that show the count. Cap them at 8. 4. Making the product name impactful. Add key USPs. Show your current product name to 10 people. Do they understand what it is? 5. Add a short description below product name. Keep it in 1 line. Highlight it's most important feature here. 6. Consider adding an offer close to price. This motivates the shopper as they see some potential savings or benefit. 7. Highlight key product strengths in bullets or with icons. Avoid sentences. Keep this before the add to cart CTA. 8. Keep your add to cart CTA full width. Don't combine it with quantity or another CTA next to it. Make sure it's readable and prominent. 9. Highlighting shipping time or return policy below the CTA. This solves for common questions - when will I get it? can I return it? 10. Cross-selling complementary products. Like bottoms with tops. Earrings with necklace. Do this close to the add to cart CTA. 11. Adding 'Benefits' to your accordion. This gets a higher click through rate, while helping shoppers understand why they should buy this. Other UX/UI changes I did: - Removed quantity button - Made the information bar non-moving - Removed log-in, moving search next to cart - Changed the font for product name and CTA - Increased font size in places for better readability Found this useful? Let me know in the comments! P.S. If you want to maximize your PDP’s potential, start by understanding your visitor's behavior and the gaps. Get heat maps for your site (Microsoft Clarity is free). Observe what they like to (and don't like to) interact with.

🛍️🎯 Personalization in B2C Marketing: Enhancing Customer Experiences In the realm of B2C marketing, personalization is a powerful tool that can significantly enhance customer experiences and drive brand loyalty. Let's delve into the importance of personalization and explore strategies for tailoring messages, recommendations, and promotions to individual consumer preferences: **1. Understanding Individual Preferences: Personalization starts with understanding your customers on an individual level. Collect data on their purchase history, preferences, and interactions with your brand across various touchpoints. **2. Segmentation for Targeted Communication: Use segmentation to categorize your audience based on shared characteristics. This allows you to create targeted marketing campaigns that resonate with specific groups, delivering more relevant content. **3. Tailored Messaging and Content: Craft personalized messages that speak directly to the interests and needs of your customers. Whether it's email marketing, social media posts, or product recommendations, tailor the content to match individual preferences. **4. Dynamic Website Content: Implement dynamic content on your website that adapts based on user behavior and preferences. This can include personalized product recommendations, content suggestions, or even a personalized homepage experience. **5. Personalized Email Campaigns: Leverage personalization in email campaigns by addressing recipients by name and recommending products or content based on their past interactions. Use dynamic content blocks to tailor the email content for different segments. **6. Recommendation Engines: Implement recommendation engines on your website and other digital platforms. These engines analyze user behavior to suggest products or content that align with individual preferences, fostering a personalized shopping or browsing experience. **7. Behavioral Retargeting: Utilize behavioral retargeting to reconnect with users who have visited your website but didn't make a purchase. Display personalized ads showcasing the products they viewed, encouraging them to return and complete the transaction. By embracing personalization in B2C marketing, businesses can foster stronger connections with their audience, increase customer satisfaction, and ultimately drive higher conversion rates. 🛒💻 #B2CMarketing #Personalization #CustomerExperience

Test your top product pages on mobile incognito to spot hidden UX blockers Most eCommerce customers will never see your site on desktop. They browse, compare and buy on mobile. Yet too many brands still optimise their sites with a desktop-first mindset. A simple 5-minute check can reveal costly UX issues: Open an incognito window on your phone. Search for your top product or category. Click through to your own site. Try to add the product to cart and move toward checkout. Note every point of friction, pop-ups, slow load times, buttons that don’t fit the screen, confusing navigation. Why this matters: Incognito removes cookies and saved logins, so you experience your site as a new customer would. Even small blockers, a broken filter, an oversized modal, a payment step that doesn’t load, can kill conversions. Google’s algorithms increasingly reward mobile UX, meaning these fixes help both SEO and revenue. You cannot optimise what you have not experienced yourself. Question: When was the last time you tested your own checkout on mobile, start to finish? #ecommerce #UX #SEO

Inflation often forces businesses into a dilemma—raise prices and risk losing customers, or keep prices stable and shrink margins. But what if data could help strike the perfect balance? 🚀 Challenge: Flipkart, one of India’s largest e-commerce platforms, noticed fluctuating customer retention rates and declining repeat purchases, especially during inflationary periods. Traditional deep-discount campaigns led to short-term sales spikes but failed to build long-term customer loyalty. 🔎 Solution: Data-Driven Discounting Strategy Flipkart’s analytics team uncovered a key insight: Small, frequent discounts (e.g., 5-10% on repeat purchases) led to higher engagement. Personalized offers based on purchase history encouraged repeat buys. A/B testing revealed that customers preferred consistency over occasional deep discounts. 💡 Implementation: Using AI-driven dynamic pricing, Flipkart rolled out: ✅ Tiered discounts for loyal customers. ✅ AI-powered coupon recommendations. ✅ Targeted email campaigns promoting small, time-sensitive discounts. 📈 Results: After three months of testing, Flipkart saw: ✔️ 17% increase in repeat purchases ✔️ 12% uplift in customer retention ✔️ Higher profit margins vs. deep discounting 🎯 Key Takeaway: In an inflationary environment, data-driven pricing isn't just about maximizing revenue—it’s about customer psychology. Businesses that personalize their offers and optimize discounts intelligently can boost retention while protecting margins. When designing content for digital signs, most teams default to rotating through images or videos - because that’s what TVs show, right? But here’s the problem: this kind of static content is uploaded & forgotten, left on an endless loop. Over time, this repetition creates screen blindness & any future messages are simply ignored. The solution is data-driven, dynamic web-based content. Web content updates automatically, staying fresh, relevant, & engaging, without the need for manual updates needed. It also gives a new life to content that is already being produced in other systems & can drive traffic back to those systems (think QR codes). Dynamic screens reduce over-exposure, build trust, & boost engagement. Plus, live content transforms your signage into a source of truth with up-to-the-minute information. It’s time to use your screens to their full potential. P.S. Stop chasing “more leads”. Start growing the customers who keep coming back and bring others with them. Most sales conversations start with: “How do we get more at the top of the funnel?” The better question is: “What are we doing with the customers we already have?” That’s where customer centricity comes in. When you design your business around your best customers – not just what you want to sell – three things happen: 1️⃣ Retain – Make it easy and rewarding to stay Retention is the first growth lever. If a good customer leaves, you don’t just lose revenue, you lose future opportunity. Ask: -> How easy is it for them to continue with us? -> Do we remove friction, or create it? -> What signals are we ignoring when they start to disengage? 2️⃣ Expand – Solve more problems, grow shared value Your existing customers are already paying attention to you. Instead of pushing “new” at strangers, deepen value with the ones who trust you. Ask: -> What bigger problem are we really solving for them? -> Where are they forced to go to another provider, and why? -> How can we grow their outcome, not just our invoice? 3️⃣ Refer – Turn happy customers into active advocates The most credible marketing is a customer who chooses to talk about you. Ask: -> Are we giving them stories worth sharing? -> Do we make it simple and natural to refer? -> Do we recognise and reward advocacy, or just expect it? Around this loop sit four discipline questions: -> What it is: Are we truly designing around customer needs, or around our org chart? -> Why it matters: Do we see retention, expansion and referrals as core revenue levers, or “nice to have”? -> Where to focus: Are we clear on our high-value, high-fit customers and the problems we solve best? -> How to deliver: Are teams aligned around customer outcomes, and are we measuring beyond “new leads”? Customer centricity is not a slogan. It is a deliberate choice to grow with the customers who stay, buy more, and bring others with them. If you look at your current sales strategy, is it lead-obsessed, or truly customer-centric? #Sales #CustomerCentricity #SalesAcceleration

You can buy Growth. You cannot buy Engagement. Too many companies burn through massive ad budgets forgetting this simple truth. When you pay for marketing, you are buying a transaction. You are paying to get someone to show up at your front door. That is top-of-funnel acquisition. But once they step inside? Whether they stay, return, and find deep value is entirely up to the product. You cannot bribe a user into genuinely caring about your platform. Engagement cannot be bought it has to be engineered. If you want to build sustainable, long-term retention without relying on an ad-spend crutch, you have to design engagement directly into the product architecture: Shrink Time-to-Value (TTV) The moment a user lands in your product, the clock is ticking. If they have to jump through ten hoops before experiencing an "Aha!" moment, they will churn. Deliver value instantly. Build Core Habit Loops Design a self-reinforcing ecosystem: Trigger: What brings them back? (An internal need or a well-timed, contextual prompt). Action: The simplest step they can take to get a reward. Variable Reward: Deliver fresh, unpredictable value that keeps them curious. Investment: Get the user to input data, time, or customization. The more they invest, the higher their switching cost becomes. Focus on Stored Value A product becomes irreplaceable when a user builds a history within it. Accumulated insights, personalized configurations, and historical data turn attention into equity. Buying growth without engineering engagement is like pouring water into a leaky bucket. It looks impressive while the tap is running, but the moment you turn off the marketing spend, you're left empty. Stop focusing purely on vanity metrics. Shift the energy from just acquiring traffic to building deep, repeatable utility. Create value that pulls people back. Build things that last. #GrowthHacking #ProductDesign #Startups #Retention #UserExperience

The 3-second rule: That's how long you have to grab a customer's attention online. Here's how to ensure your B2C startup's website drives interest: Your website is your 24/7 salesperson. But for many B2C startups, it's more like a shy intern. They end up with: 🏪 A cluttered shop front that overwhelms visitors 🧭 Unclear pathways to important information 🤔 Missed opportunities to showcase credibility The solution: Reframe your homepage as an engaging, informative storefront. Think of it as a one-page showcase with clear pathways to products and information. Here's how to structure it: 1. ABOVE THE FOLD ↳ Value prop headline (under 10 words) Example: "Feel confident with your skincare routine" ↳ 25-word max product description Example: "Our AI-powered app analyses your skin and recommends personalised, ethically-sourced products delivered straight to your door." ↳ Inspirational intro video (optional) ↳ CTA to 'Why Us' page TIP: This section gets the most attention. Make it emotionally appealing and mobile-friendly! 2. JUST UNDER THE FOLD ↳ Social proof (customer reviews, ratings, press coverage, influencer endorsements) ↳ CTA to product showcases or customer stories WHY: Build trust quickly with real experiences and third-party validation. 3. FURTHER DOWN THE PAGE ↳ 3 lead benefits (not features!) ↳ Bring product to life - showcase popular items or categories ↳ CTA to product page REMEMBER: Benefits solve customer problems. Features are just tools. 4. WRAP UP ↳ Final CTA (e.g., 'Start Shopping' or 'Join Our Community') PRO TIP: Make this CTA stand out on all devices! This blueprint helps your homepage quickly answer: ↳ What do you offer? ↳ Who is it for? ↳ Why should customers care? Key components to include: 🎯 Clear, emotionally resonant value proposition 🧭 Intuitive navigation to 'Why Us' and product pages 💡 Benefits led and visually appealing product showcases 🤝 Diverse customer testimonials, ratings, and press mentions Follow this plan for an improved user experience and a boost in conversions. Remember, your 'Why Us' page is crucial for building credibility and emotional connections with consumers. What's your biggest challenge in designing a B2C homepage? Ask me anything in the comments 👇

Checkout optimization used to mean adding more payment methods. Today it’s about shaping the payment journey before friction ever shows up. Fintech Adyen just launched Personalize inside its Uplift suite. The headline feature is real-time Dynamic Identification, trained on trillions of transactions across its network. Why it matters: 37% of shoppers abandon when checkout takes too long. 72% of businesses say transaction fees are pressuring margins. Static checkout flows treat every buyer the same. Modern payment stacks can’t afford that. Personalize adjusts the experience in real time. It can: • Prioritize cost-efficient payment rails • Suppress unnecessary authentication • Surface risk signals before authorization • Route transactions based on identity and context Early data: • 9.4% lower payment costs on eligible traffic in year one of Uplift • 42% reduction in false positives • +1.19% average conversion lift, up to 6% for some merchants • Pilots showing up to 3% lower transaction costs • Tebi: 4.26% cost savings and 0.8% conversion lift This is not incremental CRO. The real shift is architectural. Checkout is becoming a data and feedback loop problem, not a front-end design problem. The platforms that unify acquiring, issuing, risk, and identity inside one system will compound advantages over time. If you’re running payments at scale: Are you optimizing a page… or optimizing a network?

Mastering Product Card UI Design: In the competitive world of digital design, product cards play a pivotal role in showcasing products and driving user engagement. To create product cards that truly stand out, consider these advanced strategies and best practices: ✅ Minimalist Design: Embrace a minimalist approach to focus users' attention on the product itself. Use ample white space to prevent visual clutter and highlight key elements such as product images, names, and prices. ✅ Dynamic Content: Incorporate dynamic elements like real-time stock availability or price changes to provide users with the most up-to-date information. This can enhance the perceived value and urgency of the product. ✅ Personalization: Utilize data-driven insights to personalize product cards based on user preferences and browsing history. Tailored recommendations can significantly boost user engagement and conversion rates. ✅ Interactive Feedback: Implement interactive feedback mechanisms, such as quick view options or expandable sections, to provide users with more information without leaving the current page. This enhances usability and keeps users engaged. ✅ Social Proof Integration: Include elements of social proof, such as user reviews, ratings, and testimonials, within the product card. This can build trust and influence purchasing decisions by showcasing positive user experiences. ✅ Enhanced Hover Effects: Go beyond basic hover effects by incorporating advanced animations or transitions. For example, you could use a flip effect to reveal additional product details or a zoom effect to provide a closer look at product images. ✅Action-Oriented CTAs: Design compelling call-to-action (CTA) buttons that are visually distinct and encourage user interaction. Use action-oriented language like “Shop Now,” “Learn More,” or “Add to Cart” to drive conversions. ✅ Customizable Layouts: Offer customizable product card layouts to cater to different product types and user needs. For instance, provide options for grid or list views, and allow users to sort or filter products according to their preferences. By focusing on these aspects, you can create product cards that not only capture attention but also drive user engagement and conversions.
