    We recently scanned a shopping mall using Pocket3D with a DJI Osmo 360 camera, and I’m really impressed with the result. The 3D Gaussian Splatting model was generated in our companion software, SLAM GO POST. The software is free to use, with no subscription fees, and includes free lifetime upgrades. The final model makes it possible to explore the mall remotely, almost like walking through it in person. For shopping malls and retail spaces, this could be useful for virtual tours, leasing presentations, remote site reviews, digital archiving, and online marketing. Pocket3D also supports the export of COLMAP datasets, including images and camera poses. This gives developers more flexibility to: ✅ Use their own 3DGS or reconstruction algorithms ✅ Integrate Pocket3D data into third-party platforms ✅ Test and compare different processing pipelines ✅ Reduce the time spent estimating camera poses from scratch So Pocket3D can be used either as a complete, ready-to-use solution or as a flexible data-capture tool for further development.     Why It’s Time to Retire the 360° Tour!
