[GUIDE] Meet the All-New Cloudboom Strike (Cloudboom Strike 2 & LightSpray Cloudboom Strike 2)

Meet your new racing shoe: the Cloudboom Strike 2 and the LightSpray Cloudboom Strike 2

With an upgraded cushioning system, lighter foam, and a stiffer Carbon Fiber Speedboard, they are both built for takeoff.

At a Glance: Which One’s for You?

Cloudboom Strike 2: A fast ride that makes you feel efficiently responsive during your full marathon.

LightSpray Cloudboom Strike 2: A distraction-free, fast ride that helps you feel fresher for longer on race day.

Cloudboom Strike 2 - Your Next Marathon Shoe

The Cloudboom Strike 2 is best for your marathon race day. Fast, responsive, cushioned.

Why it stands out:

  • New CloudTec Sphere decoupled geometry

  • New Helion HF that is 15% lighter

  • New carbon fiber speedboard that's stiffer and lighter. Acts like a springboard, converting every landing into forward momentum.

Feels like: A springy, forward-rolling* racing shoe that feels supportive for the long run.

LightSpray Cloudboom Strike 2 - Lighter and Distraction Free Marathon Racing Shoe

The LightSpray Cloudboom Strike 2 has the same fast, responsive, and cushioned ride as the Cloudboom Strike 2, but also offers a laceless, LightSpray upper.

Why it stands out:

  • LightSpray™ upper made from a revolutionary robotic process spraying 1.5km of filament to create a seamless, glueless, one-piece upper.

  • New CloudTec Sphere allows for multi-directional expansion of the foam in the forefoot.

  • Lightest Cloudboom shoe to date

Feels like: Extremely lightweight but supportive marathon race-day shoe propelling you towards your next PB.

*Forward-rolling means a curved midsole designed to smooth out transitions and ease foot strain. This rounded design helps the foot roll naturally from heel to toe while walking or running, helping steps feel smoother and reducing effort. By guiding the foot forward on landing, rockered shoes create a rolling motion that can improve energy transfer, reduce foot strain, and encourage smoother, more efficient transitions.

When you're heading into a competition, always think of what you've done before, your journey. Think of your nice training sessions and what you've done, or some nice sessions with your friends, and how much you enjoyed the journey. Just try to stay positive heading into the race.

If you can say yes to I've been healthy, I've been injury-free, I trained well, I ate well, I took care of my body, then you have nothing to worry about!

You can go to the starting line, be all in, and be happy to be there. That's also a win. Then, just go for it, have fun, enjoy, and then after the race, learn from your mistakes and go back, train again harder, and make it better next time.

I've never done an ATHX race before! I don't think like I'm gonna do a race in the future, but I think you have to work way more on the strength side, but also be able to perform on the endurance side. Make sure to be consistent over the weeks. Let's say you do 3 runs and 3 strength sessions per week, or bike rides, or whatever, or be a lot on the erg, I think it can also help, like do ski erg, rower, or bike. Improve there, like split it 50/50 and see how your first competition goes, and then you can always adapt.

In the next 5 years, I think so, yes. The sport is still very young and the people are getting faster and faster and finding better ways on how to train for it and everything.

So I think in 3-5 years we're going to see some sub-50s in single racing.

Post-win meal is always a good steak, medium.

The hardest to improve was for sure the running. I needed to find a way to be consistent in my runs, running 4-5 times a week, every week, 40-50 kilometers, just without skipping and being consistent. I think that's the most important advice I can give, is to be consistent.

Do it every week, every month, every year, and you will see the biggest improvement there.
