Pixar is getting spooky in Ghost Market.

It’s only the briefest of glimpses that we get of the upcoming Pixar feature, set for release in March of 2028. But we know it centers on a lunch shop on Oʻahu that serves lost spirits and Kyle, who manages to stumble his way into a supernatural adventure.

The Bluey Movie teaser shows Keepy Uppy in Disneyfied CG.

The good news: The beloved children’s series is coming to the big screen!

The bad news: The charming 2D animation has been replaced with some bland 3D computer animation.

And knowing Disney, we’ll probably get a soullesslive actionremake in about a decade.

Saber says its rideshare game uses AI for voices, music, and missions.

After denying that it replaced writers for Rideshare “Stimulator” with ChatGPT and admitting that the game has some AI-generated elements, Saber Interactive has added an AI content disclosure to the title’s Steam page.

While the main campaign is written by humans, AI tools are used for “voice generation and some localization.” Free ride mode, which is optional, includes “AI-generated passenger missions and localized dialogue.” There are also radio stations featuring AI-generated music, though they’ll be labeled in the game.

A Senate subcommittee has opened an investigation into Roblox over child safety.

“Roblox appears to prioritize revenue and engagement metrics over the safety and well-being of our children, and the alleged criminal activity on Roblox warrants congressional scrutiny,” Senators Josh Hawley (R-MO) and Dick Durbin (D-IL) wrote in a letter to Roblox CEO David Baszucki.

The online gaming platform has also been subject to state lawsuits regarding alleged child safety issues. Roblox has settled some of those lawsuits, and it recently launched dedicated accounts for younger users.

Ted Lasso could be going to extra time.

Season 4 just started streaming, but Apple’s Eddy Cue is already talking about a potential season 5 renewal. “It’s certainly good enough for that,” he told Deadline. “So I think there’s plenty of stories to go on.” Of course, it’s no surprise that Apple would want to extend a hit show for as long as it can.

Scavengers Reign is heading back to Adult Swim.

The surreal sci-fi show will be airing on Toonami on September 5th, a few years after a detour on Netflix. Sadly, there’s still no word on if a second season is ever happening.

Yikes.

After denying replacing Rideshare Stimulator’s writers with ChatGPT following a claim from a former lead writer, Stella Sacco, Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch said this to This Week in Videogames:

As far as Stella is concerned, she was replaced by someone more talented and terminated for a variety of reasons a few months later. From what I can gather she enjoys controversy even more than I do. I would frankly in retrospect have been happy to replace her with AI. At least we would be dealing with someone programmed to be honest.

Tyga is the first artist to get a 0.0 from Pitchfork in 20 years for his AI synth-slop album.

The rapper admitted to using AI on his ’80s-tinged $TARFACE project and received a rare zero. Jet was the last to receive the dishonor in 2006 for Shine On. Pitchfork pulls no punches, saying:

$TARFACE is smug and complacent, an amalgam of ’80s synth-pop and disco slapped together by someone who’s seemingly never cared to listen to one synth-pop or disco record in his life … Stream it out of morbid curiosity if you must, but know that even a single listen runs the risk of making it profitable and therefore encouraging the music industry to commit such atrocities again.

As part of a $14.99 upgrade or a new Complete Edition, the game will be getting a new narrative expansion, Echoes of Sekigahara, and a “spin” on a roguelike mode, called Most Wanted. With a free 2.0 patch, the game will also get some quality of life upgrades, including a transmog feature.

All of it will launch on October 1st, nearly a year after Ghost of Yōtei’s original release.

Streets saying Coyote vs. Acme might have the heat.

It remains to be seen whether people will actually flock to theaters to see Coyote vs. Acme when it hits theaters on August 28th, but this early wave of mostly positive reviews makes it sound like David Zaslav really tried (and failed) to deprive us of a banger.

Bob Iger is reportedly buying the Los Angeles Lakers.

ESPN and other outlets report that Josh Kushner, the brother of Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and founder of Thrive Capital, and former Disney boss Bob Iger made the deal for $12.5 billion, a record-breaking price.

The pair had interest in a possible Las Vegas expansion team, but according to ESPN, “pivoted to make an aggressive offer to buy the Lakers from Mark Walter,” who became the team’s majority owner one year ago and is under federal investigation for alleged tax fraud.

Wahoo takes on Garmin and Strava.

Wahoo is revamping its app to expand beyond its core cycling hardware to become a “connected training ecosystem.” And that means subscriptions. Under its new three-tier model, basic Wahoo device support is still free; $4.99/month adds performance analytics, insights, and training load tracking for self-guided athletes; and $17.99/month adds structured training guidance.

The two companies are also signing the deal ahead of the launch of Suno’s planned music model developed “in partnership with the music industry.”

Gundam director says his new post-apocalyptic series was inspired by AI.

Kamiyama Kenji said in an interview with Variety that Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO, releasing next year, is a metaphor for tech humanity is “already beginning to struggle to handle.”

Can we truly master a technology we did not create ourselves, or will we end up being used by it? It is a metaphor for technologies that humanity is already beginning to struggle to handle in reality, such as AI.

Luke Skywalker and Captain America walk into a bar.

Though the idea of a Star Wars and Marvel crossover comic sounds kind of terrible, that isn’t stopping Kevin Smith and artist David Marquez from working on Hope Assembles — a five-issue limited series that will “anchor the Star Wars franchise firmly in Marvel’s 616 universe” remix aspects of A New Hope.
