Most travel companies are still searching for suppliers one by one. The smartest OTAs, travel startups, and travel agencies are building ecosystems. And ecosystems are built on APIs. After researching the global travel technology landscape, I compiled a list of the Top 100 Travel API Providers Globally (2026) covering flights, hotels, buses, transfers, tours, cruises, car rentals, and B2B travel infrastructure. The reality? Most travel businesses know only 5-10 providers. But the companies scaling fastest know 50+. Here's what stands out: 1. GDS is evolving beyond traditional distribution with players like Amadeus Sabre, Travelport, Duffel, Travelfusion, Mystifly, Verteil Technologies, PKFARE, TPConnects Technologies, and AirGateway driving modern airline connectivity. 2. Hotel distribution is becoming more fragmented than ever with Hotelbeds, Expedia Group, Booking.com, WebBeds, Agoda, RateHawk, Priceline, DOTW, Travellanda Ltd, and Stuba competing for inventory leadership. 3. Flight intelligence APIs are becoming critical for AI-powered travel platforms. Companies like Cirium, OAG, FlightAware, FLIGHT STATS, AeroDataBox, FlightLabs.io, Travelpayouts, FlightXML, and Flightradar24 are powering next-generation travel experiences. 4. Activities and experiences are becoming major revenue drivers through GetYourGuide, Viator, Musement S.p.A, Tiqets, Klook, Headout,, and Bokun. 5. Ground transportation is rapidly digitizing through Omio, Trainline, Rail Europe, redBus, FlixBus, Rome2Rio, Busbud, and CheckMyBus The biggest opportunity in 2026 is not building another OTA. The opportunity is building smarter travel infrastructure powered by multiple APIs. Brutal truth: Many travel agencies still depend on a single supplier. That is a risk. One outage. One pricing issue. One inventory gap. And bookings disappear. The future belongs to travel companies that build multi-supplier, automated, API-driven ecosystems. Which Travel API provider has created the biggest impact on your business? Comment "API" and I'll share my complete Travel API ecosystem framework for OTA growth. If you're planning to launch or scale a travel business using Flight API, Hotel API, Bus API, White Label Solutions, or Booking Engine technology, let's connect: šŸ“… https://lnkd.in/gUxtDrDH @Amadeus @Sabre @Travelport @Duffel @Travelfusion @Mystifly @VerteilTechnologies @PKFARE @TPConnects @AirGateway @Hotelbeds @ExpediaGroup @Booking.com @WebBeds @Agoda @RateHawk #TravelAPI #FlightAPI #HotelAPI #BusAPI #TravelTechnology #TravelTech #TravelAutomation #TravelIndustry #TravelStartup #OTA #OnlineTravelAgency #TravelBusiness #BookingEngine #WhiteLabelTravelPortal #TravelDistribution #TravelCommerce #B2BTravel #TravelSolutions #TravelInnovation #DigitalTravel #TravelConnectivity #TravelSoftware #TravelManagement #TravelEntrepreneur

I used to book holidays from a travel agent's office, flipping through a printed brochure while someone typed my credit card number into a terminal. Now I can book a five-star resort from my phone at 11pm on a Tuesday. Three taps. Done. That speed is what travellers expect today. But here's what most people don't think about: the easier you make booking, the more attractive your platform becomes to bad actors. Melbourne-based Luxury Escapes has built one of the world's most seamless travel experiences for over eight million members. When they launched their LuxPlus and SociĆ©tĆ© loyalty programs, fraudsters saw an opening. Stolen cards. Last-minute bookings. Stays consumed before chargebacks even landed. The old playbook would have been to add friction. More verification steps, slower checkouts. Luxury Escapes went the other direction. Working with our Enterprise Support team at Stripe, they built automated fraud rules through Radar for Fraud Teams that block threats in real time, without touching the experience for legitimate customers. They adopted PayTo for instant fund verification, so last-minute bookings settle with total confidence. And they turned a manual, reactive fraud operation into something precise and proactive. The results speak for themselves: • $200K in fraud prevented in 30 days • 30 hours saved per week in manual review As Jake Pajer, Group Product Manager—Data, Financial Platforms, and Payments of Luxury Escapes put it: "Stripe gave us the technology to stop fraud, but Enterprise Support gave us the confidence to use it. We're working with a partner who knows our business inside and out, which lets us move fast and block threats without getting in the way of real customers." Luxury Escapes didn't treat payments as a cost centre. They turned it into a competitive edge. Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/gymjy_gx

Hot take: corporate travel tech is being won in the demo and lost at 2:00 AM. I compared recurring customer feedback on Perk , Navan, SAP Concur and Ramp. Each platform has a clear strength: -TravelPerk makes corporate travel booking simple. -Navan delivers a strong all-in-one travel and expense experience. -SAP Concur offers deep enterprise compliance and controls. -Ramp is excellent at cards and expense automation. But the complaints are surprisingly similar. Everything works well when the trip follows the plan. The real frustration starts when: -A flight is cancelled -A hotel cannot find the reservation -A traveller needs to change a booking -A virtual card fails -A refund disappears between the supplier and platform -Support transfers the case from one agent to another The industry keeps investing in prettier dashboards, AI assistants and faster booking flows. But perhaps customers do not need another ā€œseamless booking experience.ā€ They need someone to take ownership when the experience is no longer seamless. That may be the uncomfortable truth about corporate travel technology: The booking engine is becoming a commodity. Exception handling is the real product. Which platform has given your company the best experience, especially when something went wrong? #CorporateTravel #BusinessTravel #TravelTechnology #ExpenseManagement #Fintech #CustomerExperience

Corporate Travel Just Flipped — The Traveler Now Runs the Show šŸ’„ Ten years ago, 80% of business travel bookings were offline. Phone calls, emails, and GDS commands ruled the day. Today, it’s flipped. šŸ’„ Over 90% of managed travel bookings are now made online. TheĀ era of the agent typing codes into the GDS is over. Business travel has gone digital — and the traveler is now in control. OBTs (Online Booking Tools) likeĀ SAP Concur,Ā Amadeus Cytric,Ā Navan, Spotnana,Ā Serko, Egencia & TravelPerkĀ have become the universal gateway for corporate travel — where bookings happen instantly, policies are embedded, payments are automated, and hotel content is richer than ever. Across global programs, the numbers say it all: šŸ’» 90–97% of bookings are online šŸ“² Travelers and arrangers book directly, in seconds 🧾 Real-time policy, payment, and folio integration šŸØ Hotel content from GDS, direct, and aggregator sources now sits right at the traveler’s fingertips 🧭 The Traveler Is Now in Control — So What Changes? šŸØ ForĀ Hoteliers The fight has moved from rate sheets to relevance. The traveler can now seeĀ everything — GDS, direct, aggregator, and OTA — side by side in their OBT. Winning visibility means: Investing inĀ content qualityĀ (images, amenities, policies, loyalty). Moving from static RFPs toĀ dynamic corporate pricing. IntegratingĀ loyalty and recognitionĀ directly into booking tools. Competing onĀ experience, not just rate. šŸ’”Ā You’re no longer selling rooms — you’re selling trust and digital presence inside the booking flow. šŸ¤ ForĀ TMCs (Travel Management Companies) The role has evolved fromĀ agentĀ toĀ architect. You’re no longer booking — you’reĀ designing the ecosystemĀ that powers self-service travel. This means: Owning data integration, policy automation, and traveler support. ManagingĀ multi-source contentĀ (GDS + NDC + aggregator + direct). Redefining success throughĀ adoption, satisfaction, and efficiency, not call volume. šŸ’”Ā The modern TMC isn’t a call center — it’s a control tower. 🧳 ForĀ Travel Buyers Control has shifted — but influence has grown. Travelers have freedom, but programs need cohesion. Buyers now designĀ experience ecosystems, not just policy decks. That means: Embedding policy into tools, not PowerPoints. MeasuringĀ experience, sustainability, and loyalty ROI. Using data to make compliance feel like convenience. šŸ’”Ā The best travel programs will be designed around trust, empowerment, and transparency. ⚔ The Takeaway Adoption is solved. Now it’s aboutĀ experience, content, loyalty, and payments — the new frontier of Business Travel. The traveler is in control. The ecosystem must evolve to match. Let’s make sure ourĀ content, partnerships, and platformsĀ keep up. #BusinessTravel #CorporateTravel #HotelDistribution #OBT #TMC #SAPConcur #TravelManagement #HotelContent #Loyalty #Payments #RateParity #TravelTech #HotelTech #HEDNA #Hospitality #MultiSourcing #TravelerExperience #Innovation #DistributionStrategy

Fraudulent activities pose a significant threat to many businesses, making it crucial to detect and prevent them to protect both the company's reputation and bottom line. In a blog post by the engineering team from Booking.com, they share their innovative approach to combating fraud using graph technology. The rationale behind leveraging graph technology for fraud detection is straightforward: often, there are hidden links between various actors, identifiers, and transactions. For example, if an email address has been previously associated with fraudulent activity, it provides valuable context for future detection. This interconnected nature makes graph-based features highly effective for identifying fraud. The team at Booking built a graph using historical data, such as reservation requests. In this graph, nodes represent transaction identifiers like account numbers and credit card details, while edges connect identifiers that have been observed together before. When assessing fraud risk, they query the graph database to build a local graph centered around the request identifier, which helps to evaluate the likelihood of fraudulent behavior. One aspect that stands out is the dynamic visual representation of how the graph evolves with customer interactions, making it easier to understand the benefits of graph technology in fraud detection. It serves as a nice introduction to the potential of graph technology in combating fraudulent activities. #machinelearning #graph #datascience #analytics #fraud #detection – – –  Check out the "Snacks Weekly on Data Science" podcast and subscribe, where I explain in more detail the concepts discussed in this and future posts:Ā  Ā Ā -- Spotify: https://lnkd.in/gKgaMvbh Ā Ā -- Apple Podcast: https://lnkd.in/gj6aPBBYĀ  Ā Ā -- Youtube: https://lnkd.in/gcwPeBmR https://lnkd.in/gQAwSz7D

Fraud is one of the biggest hidden costs in #MobilityServices like #RideHailing, #FoodDelivery, and #MicroMobility. From GPS spoofing to fake accounts and payment abuse, modern fraud schemes exploit the very real-time nature that makes these services convenient. Traditional #Frauddetection methods often rely on batch processing and manual rule-based systems. They act too late, missing fast-moving and complex fraud patterns. Leaders likeĀ #Uber, #Grab, and #LyftĀ are changing the game by usingĀ real-time data streaming with #ApacheKafka and #ApacheFlinkĀ to detect and stop #FraudĀ as it happens. Here is how: #DataStreaming with Apache KafkaĀ continuously streams data from payments, GPS, and user interactions to enable immediate decision-making. Apache FlinkĀ processes and correlates these events in real time, applyingĀ #AI and machine learning modelsĀ to spot anomalies and block suspicious activity instantly. This shift fromĀ reactiveĀ toĀ proactiveĀ fraud detection is protecting millions in revenue while keeping user trust intact. Real-world examples show the business impact: - FREE NOW (Lyft)Ā uses #KafkaStreams to analyze trip routes and detect fake rides in real time. - GrabĀ built its AI-powered fraud engineĀ GrabDefenceĀ with Kafka and Flink, cutting fraud losses from 1.6% to 0.2%. - Uber’s Project RADARĀ combines Kafka and #MachineLearning models with human analysts to handle chargeback and payment fraud globally. The lesson is clear:Ā Fraud in mobility services is a real-time problem that requires real-time solutions. A #DataStreamingPlatform provides the scalability, reliability, and intelligence needed to detect and prevent fraud before it happens. This is not only a technical upgrade but a strategic advantage for every mobility provider competing in an AI-driven digital economy. More details: https://lnkd.in/eZ7q_6M2 How do you see real-time streaming and AI changing the way mobility and delivery platforms protect their businesses from fraud?

Agoda operates in one of the most price-sensitive markets in the world: Asia-Pacific travel. Every traveller is hunting for a deal. Every hotel wants full occupancy. Agoda built a pricing model that serves both; while quietly extracting margin from each layer. Layer 1: Commission model (15-25%) - Every hotel booking on Agoda earns them a 15 to 25% cut depending on property type and market. Hotels pay for access to Agoda's 2M+ listings audience. Standard OTA playbook — but the base layer everything else sits on. Layer 2: Secret Deals - Hotels pre-negotiate discounted rates with Agoda for inventory they need to offload. Agoda sells these as mystery bookings; travellers get a discount and the hotel is revealed only after payment. The traveller feels like they won. The hotel offloads unsold rooms. Agoda collects its full commission on a pre-sold rate. Nobody loses except the traveller who overpaid elsewhere. Layer 3: PointsMAX; where users pay more willingly - Agoda partners with 46 airline loyalty programmes including Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer and United MileagePlus. PointsMAX rates are the same room at a higher price — but earn airline miles. Deal-obsessed travellers pay the premium specifically to get the miles. Agoda earns more revenue per booking while the user feels rewarded. Layer 4: VIP tiers that require repeat booking - Silver VIP (2 stays): 12% off. Gold VIP (5 stays): 18% off. Platinum VIP (10 stays): 25% off plus free breakfast. Discounts are funded by hotels, not Agoda. But VIP status drives repeat bookings on Agoda's platform, growing commission volume. The loyalty cost is zero to Agoda. Layer 5: Ancillary revenue - Flights, airport transfers, activities. Ancillary services grew 25% YoY in 2024. Every booking becomes an upsell opportunity and 65% of those happen on mobile where the conversion path is seamless. Five layers. One booking. That's how Agoda grew commission revenue 18% in a market that's theoretically already saturated. āœˆļø

I get questions asked all the time in my DMs. So I’ve decided to start sharing them publicly, along with my honest answers. Here’s one that I think every GM, marketing director, and owner needs to hear. Question: How do I make ancillary revenue central to marketing? My answer: Ancillary revenue is gold. It’s where your profit lives. Rooms get all the spotlight, but the spa, dining, and excursions often bring higher margins and deeper guest satisfaction. Hotels that only market rooms are leaving serious money on the table. Your room is the ticket to the experience, not the experience itself. You need to start marketing everything that surrounds the stay, because that’s where guests actually spend daily. They might book the room once, but they’ll order cocktails every night, book a massage midweek, or upgrade to that private boat excursion when they see it done right on social. āœ… Reframe your mindset: Stop calling it ā€œancillary.ā€ That word makes it sound optional or secondary. These are core experiences that define your brand. Guests don’t talk about the thread count of the sheets, they talk about the sunset dinner or the local wine tasting that changed their trip. āœ… Create emotional content around it: Don’t just post the spa menu. Film the therapist preparing oils and describe the feeling of leaving that room lighter. Don’t post a list of excursions. Show your guide laughing with guests on the boat. Build *desire*, not lists. āœ… Bundle strategically: Create stay packages that highlight experiences first, rooms second. ā€œThree nights and a culinary journey through our kitchenā€ sells more than ā€œDeluxe Suite with breakfast.ā€ When you make the add-ons the story, people spend more before they arrive. āœ… Use social to upsell silently: Long-form videos about your chef’s sourcing philosophy, short clips of cocktails being made, and photo essays of excursions can all live on your digital platforms year-round. Guests book based on what they *see themselves doing*, not just where they sleep. āœ… Empower your team: Train your staff to become micro-marketers. Your bartender should know how to invite guests to try the signature cocktail, your spa manager should share testimonials that feel human, and your concierge should have content ready to send on WhatsApp. If you’re not marketing your high-margin experiences, you’re relying on your lowest-margin product to carry your revenue. That’s not strategy. That’s survival. Hospitality is about creating moments people remember, and those moments rarely happen inside the room. Please remember this is only one man’s opinion, but this man has been in the deep trenches of social media marketing for hospitality for the last 16 years, working with some of the biggest brands. If you have a different answer, I'd love to hear it. Please share? --- If you like the way I look at the world of hospitality, let’s chat: scott@mrscotteddy.com
