Ever tried to make an ad feel like a warm hug but ended up sounding like a pushy telemarketer? Been there, done that. šŸ˜‚ But trust me, when you get the balance right, writing with emotional impact is like the perfect first date: a little nervous, a lot of fun, and leaves them wanting more. So, how can you sprinkle that magic into copy? Let me break it down: --- šŸ’› Rule #1: Speak to the ā€œHumanā€ in ThemĀ  People don’t care about your company’s state-of-the-art features. What they care about is them.Ā  So I write like I’m speaking to a friend—someone who’s tired, overwhelmed, or just looking for something that’ll make life a little easier. šŸ’› Rule #2: Paint Pictures with Words Ever heard of a ā€œfeel-good momentā€ in an ad? That’s when you hit the emotional jackpot.Ā  I love painting mental pictures with my words, from sipping the perfect cup of coffee on a rainy day to feeling the excitement of unboxing something you’ve been eyeing forever.Ā  These little moments make the ad feel less like an ad and more like a snapshot of their life. šŸ’› Rule #3: Use the Power of "Relatable Struggles" Ā Ā  You know that feeling when you finally find the TV remote under the couch cushions after 30 minutes of searching? It’s the small victories that we ALL know and love.Ā  When I write ads, I tap into these everyday struggles—because we’ve all been there. šŸ’› Rule #4: Add a Dash of Humor (But Don’t Overdo It)Ā  Emotions + Humor = The sweet spot.Ā  But here’s the trick: don’t make it too funny or it’ll feel like you're trying too hard.Ā  A good chuckle can build rapport, making your audience feel like they’re having a conversation with a friend rather than a brand. --- At the end of the day, writing with emotional impact is all about connecting. If your copy makes them feel something—whether it’s joy, relief, excitement, or even a little guilt for never cleaning out their inbox—then you’ve done your job. šŸ’Ŗ So, what emotional triggers do you use in your copy? Drop your tips in the comments and let’s make this whole "selling with feels" thing even more fun! 🌟

Most people send a plain text email after a great sales call. I send a video. The screenshot below is a real follow-up I sent after a prospect meeting. Instead of just recapping in writing, I recorded a 2-minute Loom video sharing what I learned, what I’m envisioning for their event, and why I’m genuinely excited to work together. In today’s world of noise and automation, a video like this is a humanizer. It gives them something to feel, not just something to read, and it gives them a powerful tool to forward to their internal decision-makers. The psychology behind this is fascinating. When someone sees your face and hears your voice, it activates the mirror neuron system in their brain, essentially helping them feel emotionally connected to you, as if they’re in the same room. That’s empathy. That’s trust. And trust is what drives decisions. Research shows that only 7% of communication is verbal; the rest is tone, facial expression, and body language. In a sales process full of text and data, the human brain craves the richness of video. It’s also about cognitive ease. According to research from Princeton and the University of Michigan, people are more likely to trust and act on information that feels easy to process. A clear, engaging video makes your message stickier. Add a little story, a little emotion, a little spark, and suddenly you’re not just another vendor in the inbox. You’re a trusted voice. Taking the time to send a video builds social capital. It says, ā€œI care.ā€ It says, ā€œThis mattered to me.ā€ That emotional generosity has ripple effects in a referral-driven business. So if you’re trying to stand out, build relationships, and grow your business, try adding a short, heartfelt Loom video to your follow-ups. Whether it’s a cold prospect, a warm lead, or a longtime client, your energy is your edge. Presence beats polish every time. Link to how to use Loom is in the comments. Happy Monday ya'll, let's go scale our impact.

Nobody buys B2B solutions rationally. Ā  They buy emotionally and justify it with data. Ā  Here's what that means for your outreach: Ā  The emotion they're really buying: Ā  → Safety — 'This won't blow up in my face' → Status — 'My CEO will think I'm smart for finding this' → Relief — 'Finally, someone who gets this problem' → Fear — 'If I don't fix this, Q3 will be a disaster' → Pride — 'I was the one who brought this in' Ā  Most outreach talks to the rational brain: ROI. Features. Case studies. Integrations. Ā  The rational brain approves purchases. The emotional brain initiates them. Ā  Your first email should trigger an emotion. Your follow-ups should give the rational brain what it needs to say yes. Ā  Hook the heart. Close with the head. In that order. Always. AI isn’t just a buzzword anymore—it’s changing the game in cold email outreach. Here’s how smart automation is making personalization and targeting sharper than ever: 1. Behavior-Based Segmentation AI tracks what your prospects are doing—website visits, social media activity, content downloads—and groups them based on shared interests. The result? Messages that hit closer to home. 2. Predictive Analytics Not all leads are created equal. AI predicts which ones are most likely to respond, helping you focus on the prospects that matter most. 3. Dynamic Templates Forget cookie-cutter emails. AI fills templates with personalized details like a recipient’s name, company, and industry—instantly. Every email feels tailor-made. 4.Behavioral Customization AI adjusts your outreach in real-time based on how prospects engage. Didn’t click the link in your email? AI can follow up with fresh content or a more personal touch to re-engage them. Here’s the catch: Automation doesn’t replace the human touch. It’s a tool to help you build authentic connections—not a substitute for them. Want more insights like this? šŸ“§ Subscribe to our newsletter today! #EmailMarketing #AIinSales #Personalization

Selling Isn’t Hard. You’re Just Overthinking It. 2.5 years ago, I watched a friend’s startup flop. He had a great product, solid pricing, even ads running on every platform. But here’s the thing—his website? It was absolutely boring… His copy sounded like it was written by a robot. It was all ā€œWe’re the leading solution forā€¦ā€ and ā€œOur product offers unparalleled featuresā€¦ā€ You know what happened? People scrolled right past. No one cared. So, I stepped in. I rewrote his copy to actually speak to people. Instead of ā€œleading solution,ā€ I wrote, ā€œImagine never stressing over this again.ā€ Instead of listing features, I told a story about how his product solved a real problem for someone like them. And guess what? His sales shot up. Same product, same ads—different words. That’s the power of copywriting. Are You Using Words the Right Way? Do they hit an emotional nerve? Do they make people want to act? If not, here’s how you fix it. āœ… Use words that nudge, not shove. āœ… Speak with people, not at them. āœ… Share stories that make them think, ā€œThat’s me!ā€ Let’s break it down. 1ļøāƒ£ Words That Trigger Action A client of mine was selling online workshops. Her emails? Crickets. She kept saying things like, ā€œRegister todayā€ or ā€œSign up now.ā€ Meh. So, we added this: ā€œSpots are filling fast—grab yours before it’s gone.ā€ Suddenly, people started clicking. Why? FOMO. Fear of Missing Out. ā€œBuy Nowā€ isn’t just a phrase. It’s a gentle nudge that taps into urgency and scarcity. 2ļøāƒ£ Speak Like You’re in Their Head Ever read something and thought, ā€œThat’s exactly how I feelā€? That’s the goal. One time, I worked with a fitness coach whose copy was all ā€œWe’ll help you reach your fitness goals.ā€ Blah. Everyone says that. I changed it to: ā€œTired of feeling stuck every Monday? Let’s fix that—for good.ā€ It worked because it felt personal, like a friend who gets it. That’s the secret. 3ļøāƒ£ Facts Don’t Sell. Stories Do. One of my favorite campaigns was for a skincare brand. Instead of shouting, ā€œWe have 5-star reviews!ā€ we shared a customer story: ā€œEmma had tried everything for her acne. Nothing worked—until she found this. Three weeks later, her confidence came back. She even stopped wearing foundation.ā€ That’s what made people buy. Stories make products relatable. Stats don’t. 4ļøāƒ£ Scarcity Without the Sleaze Remember when concert tickets would sell out in minutes? That’s scarcity at work. For a small e-commerce brand, I wrote: ā€œOnly 5 left in stock. We don’t restock often.ā€ Sales spiked. Why? Because people don’t want to miss out. But here’s the trick: Be honest. Fake scarcity smells like desperation. Whether it’s benefits, features, or steps—stick to three. Anything else is overkill. So, if your copy isn’t selling, maybe it’s not the product. Maybe your words just aren’t doing their job. Fix that, and you’ll see the magic. P.S. Need a hand? I’m right here. DM me if you need help with content writing or copywriting. #copywriting #marketing

POST-4/7šŸ‘‰ Email used to be a megaphone. In 2025, it’s a whisper in a very specific ear. Gone are the days when ā€œblast to allā€ could pass as a strategy. In fact, that approach in 2025 is actively hurting your deliverability. Email Service Providers (ESPs) like Gmail, Yahoo, and Outlook are no longer just evaluating your IP health—they’re scoring your sender behavior at the recipient level. That means if 40% of your list is cold or disengaged, Gmail sees you as the problem—not just the user. āš ļø Real Consequence: 1. We audited an ecommerce fashion brand with 220K contacts. Over 92K of them hadn’t clicked a single email in 90+ days. Gmail flagged them for bulk spam behavior, and inboxing fell from 78% to 46% overnight. 2. They were running promos weekly. Nothing was technically broken—but nothing was relevant. That’s what got them crushed. What Micro-Segmentation Solves in 2025: āœ… Reduces spam complaints āœ… Increases engagement velocity āœ… Signals positive intent to inbox providers āœ… Unlocks higher revenue per send with smaller cohorts Micro-Segmentation Tactics That Work Now: 1. Behavior-Based Journeys: Forget static tags. If someone viewed winter boots but didn’t buy, your next 3 emails better talk about warmth, snow, or style—not your general spring lookbook. āœ… Klaviyo + Shopify data lets you trigger flow branches based on: Last viewed product category Cart abandonment by SKU group Pages viewed in session (via UTMs or on-site behavior) Pro Tip: Use dynamic content blocks inside campaigns to adjust hero sections based on browse activity without cloning entire flows. 2. Lifecycle Automation by Spend Velocity This isn’t ā€œnew vs returningā€ logic anymore. In 2025, flows shift based on: Time since last order AOV trends SKU replenishment cycles Example: First-time customer who hasn’t returned in 30 days → ā€œ2nd purchase incentiveā€ High-value buyer within 7 days → ā€œVIP early accessā€ Customer inactive 60+ days → Winback + dynamic offer block + channel sync suppression 3. AI-Supported Clustering Tools like RetentionX, Lexer, and even Klaviyo’s predictive analytics are now building multi-dimensional customer clusters using: Purchase frequency Channel source Time to second order Category loyalty It’s loyal mid-value buyers who shop monthly but only when free shipping is offered. āœ… What to do: Export these clusters to your ESP Build messaging that maps exactly to their past actions Suppress low responders from paid channels and warm email instead. Ready to Execute? Create 5 foundational micro-segments: 1. High spenders 2. First-time buyers 3. VIPs (CLV > 2.5x avg) 4. Dormant >90 days 5. Active clickers, no conversion Test 2 cadences per segment: VIPs: 4x/month + early access Dormant: 1x/month reactivation with content—not promos Use Recency, Frequency, and Monetary score buckets to tag customers and let your automations react to movement between them. #EmailMarketing #email

Cold email copywriting tip. A problem is not pain. This is a problem: Your grill’s igniter is broken so you light it with a match. Annoying? Sure. But you’ve adapted. You’re making progress. You’re getting the job done. This is pain: When you light a propane grill with a match, unburned gas can ignite and burn your face. That’s the difference. Pain is urgent. It demands action. Problems? We live with them. I’ve got plenty of problems I tolerate every day. So do you. So do your prospects. Because we all have limited resources, We don’t pay to solve problems. We pay to eliminate expensive problems. Why? Because pain is felt. It’s emotional. It’s visceral. It makes people move. So if your solution doesn’t connect to pain, don’t expect urgency. Expect ā€œmaybe later.ā€ Cold email example: Problem: Managing new store fulfillment with spreadsheets. Pain: Zeta used spreadsheets as they scaled from 5 Charleston shops to 23 across NYC, LA, and SF. At first, it worked. Then came shipping delays, missed SLAs, bad reviews, and burnt-out teams. Brand nearly collapsed under the chaos. Feel the difference? (Yes, it’s a feeling.) Twist the knife. Make it bleed. The more someone’s bleeding, the faster they run red lights to get to the ER.

You have static segments you use for your email marketing.. "Repeat buyers" "Inactive 60+ days" "High value customers" But customers change. Someone inactive 60 days might become active again. Someone you thought was high value might be about to churn. Here's how to build AI into segmentation so it's dynamic: Every week, run all your customer data through an AI analysis: Prompt: "Analyze these customer segments and their recent behavior: Segment: Inactive (no purchase in 60+ days) Sample customers: [customer IDs with data: purchase history, email opens, clicks, browsing behavior, abandoned carts] Who in this segment is actually about to repurchase? (Look for signs: new browsing, abandoned cart, email opens trending up) Who in this segment is actually churned for good? (Look for signs: zero engagement, stopped opening emails, never returns) Who in this segment has a different reason for being inactive? (Seasonal? Product consumable so they're on a long cycle? Waiting for sale?) For each type, what messaging would work?" Your biggest mistake is treating "inactive" as a bucket. It's 5 different buckets that need 5 different approaches.

Personalization Isn’t the Answer—It’s the Starting Point For years, we’ve been told that personalization is the secret sauce to successful email marketing. But here’s the hard truth: Personalization alone doesn’t cut it anymore. If you’re still treating it as the endgame, you’re missing the mark. In my recent conversation with Sofiia Shvets, we explored how AI is not just enhancing personalization but completely revolutionizing how we engage with customers. Here’s what we’re doing to push beyond the basics: 1ļøāƒ£ Automated Segmentation: AI goes beyond personalization by dynamically creating and updating audience segments, ensuring we’re always targeting the most relevant customers with exactly what they need. 2ļøāƒ£ Hyper-Personalized Text: AI helps us craft messages that don’t just insert a name—they speak directly to each customer’s unique journey, making every interaction feel personal and timely. 3ļøāƒ£ Intelligent Graphics & Product Recommendations: AI doesn’t just generate visuals; it strategically selects the products that should be featured, driving higher engagement and conversions. 4ļøāƒ£ Advanced Cross-Selling & Promotions: By leveraging AI, we’re not just suggesting products—we’re predicting and delivering the offers that are most likely to resonate with each customer. AI is moving us beyond the old playbook, allowing us to create dynamic, deeply personalized experiences at scale. But this is just the beginning. Here are a few cutting-edge ways AI can take your email marketing to the next level: → Real-time Behavior Analysis: Adapt email content on the fly based on customer interactions. → Predictive Analytics: Anticipate customer needs and preferences, driving proactive engagement. → A/B Testing at Scale: Use AI to optimize content and visuals across massive audiences efficiently. → Content Optimization: Continuously refine and enhance email content to maximize impact. → Advanced UTM Targeting: Tailor email experiences based on traffic sources for greater relevance. We’re just scratching the surface of what’s possible with AI and email. Fun times ahead!
