If your team’s running on empty, it might not be a workload issue. It might be a misalignment issue. When people feel drained, it’s rarely because they’re doing too much. Often, it’s because they’re spending too much time doing the wrong kind of work. The kind of work that pulls energy instead of giving it back. We often assume that if someone is competent, they should keep doing what they’re good at. But just because you’re good at something you don’t enjoy does not mean it doesn’t cost you. Leaders mean well when they tell someone, “You’re great at that, keep going.” Yet over time, that kind of encouragement can lead to exhaustion. What drains someone is not weakness. It is information, a clue about how they’re wired and what gives them joy. Healthy teams don’t just celebrate strengths. They also honor frustrations. They make space for people to say, “I can do this, but it drains me,” and then adjust roles, projects, or expectations accordingly. When leaders pay attention to both gifts and frustrations, they don’t just get better results. They build teams that are sustainable, dignified, and deeply human. 🎧 Listen to the Working Genius Podcast Episode 98: Honoring Working Frustrations https://lnkd.in/gpuwq845

Ever felt like you were standing at a cliff, knowing you had to jump but terrified of what lay below? That’s exactly what it felt like back in October 2022 when I pivoted into consulting. I had spent years building expertise in automotive design, plant operations, and maintenance, and leaving that comfort zone wasn’t easy. I spent time at Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. , Maruti Suzuki India Limited and Jindal Stainless , learning the automotive and manufacturing sector inside out; from the shop floor to the design studio. But along the way, I discovered my growing fascination with data analytics and consulting. I realized that behind every production metric, every design iteration, and every operational bottleneck lay data waiting to tell a story. Today, I see myself as a technology-agnostic professional; someone who doesn’t chase tools for the sake of tools, but focuses on business outcomes above all else. Whether it’s a dashboard, a model, or a strategy deck, the goal is always the same: solving the right problem, the right way. Still, doubts lingered during the transition: 1) “Will my technical background be enough?” 2) “Can I shift industries this late?” 3) “What if I fail?” But what I learned is that pivots aren’t about abandoning your past they’re about carrying your strengths forward. In consulting, I discovered: ✅ My experience solving complex problems, now powered by data, became my biggest asset. ✅ My ability to blend domain expertise with analytics helped clients unlock clarity. ✅ My curiosity turned ambiguity into opportunity. What made the transition smoother was: 1) Learning to frame problems with a data-first, outcome-driven mindset. 2) Talking to professionals who had made similar shifts. 3) And reminding myself that growth begins at the edge of discomfort. ✨ If you’re considering a pivot, remember: Your past doesn’t hold you back; it propels you forward. 🪴 Image : Little green reminder that growth often starts outside your comfort zone. 📣 Have you ever made a big career pivot? Collaborative robots are moving automation from isolated cells into daily production activities beside human operators. Factories adopting cobots are reorganizing safety procedures and line management to gain steadier execution with less physical strain on teams. A few operational consequences are becoming visible: - Repetitive assembly tasks are shifting toward robotic support while operators focus on supervision - Flexible production lines can adapt faster to product changes through rapid robot reprogramming - Safety management is evolving with sensors and motion control integrated into daily workflows - Workforce development now requires technical skills linked to monitoring and process optimization - Stable robot movements help reduce variability and improve consistency across production cycles Long-term adoption depends on human-machine coordination and production models designed around collaboration rather than replacement. #Cobots #Industry40

Over the past year, I have had one consistent realization while speaking with data leaders, founders, and AI teams across conferences and interviews. AI is not just changing how we work. It is quietly creating entirely new job roles inside companies. Curious to know what the community thinks about it? When I started covering AI agents on The Ravit Show (www.theravitshow.com), most conversations were about automation. Faster reports. Smarter copilots. Less manual work. But now, what I see inside real teams is very different. Companies are not asking, “Which tasks can AI replace?” They are asking, “Who will design, supervise, and run these agents?” That shift is creating new roles that did not exist a few years ago. For example, I am now seeing teams actively look for people who can design how agents think and collaborate, not just write prompts. Roles like AI Agent Architects and Prompt-to-System Engineers are emerging because businesses need structured intelligence, not experiments. Future Job Roles Created by Age…. I am also seeing operations leaders move into workflow design roles. Instead of optimizing processes manually, they are turning onboarding, reporting, and customer support into agent-driven pipelines. This is where Agent Workflow Designers are becoming critical. Another big change is happening in production environments. Once agents go live, companies need people to monitor drift, control costs, handle failures, and improve performance continuously. That is where Agent Ops and Human-in-the-Loop Supervisors come in. These roles sit at the intersection of technology, risk, and business judgment. Even analytics teams are evolving. Analysts are no longer just querying data. Many are building agents that pull data, run analysis, generate insights, and draft reports. Their role is shifting from data pullers to decision accelerators. And perhaps the most interesting shift I am seeing is in consulting and product roles. AI Automation Consultants are helping companies find where agents actually deliver ROI. Agent Product Managers are thinking in terms of which agents do what, when, and why. Systems Integrators are becoming the bridge that connects agents to CRMs, databases, and enterprise tools. This is not a future prediction. It is already happening inside modern teams. If you work in data, product, operations, or engineering, the opportunity is not just to use AI. It is to become the person who designs, manages, and scales intelligent systems. I would love to hear from you. Which of these emerging roles do you think will become standard in every company over the next 3 years? #data #ai #agentic #promptengineering #designs #systems #jobs #agents #theravitshow

Job descriptions and tasks are no longer static, they are increasingly being redefined at a faster frequency than before. You can hire for a clean set of responsibilities today. But if your values include efficiency, iteration, and progress, those responsibilities will change quickly. Sometimes the role itself changes within a year, sometimes sooner, because the system around the person changes. Tools improve, workflows compress, what used to take a week becomes a day, and naturally, the bottleneck is somewhere else. This is where teams get surprised by AI. They adopt tools that take over the first draft, first pass, analysis, and then they leave the human role untouched. The human becomes the “leftovers operator”, chasing edge cases, doing manual glue work, cleaning up inconsistencies, forwarding threads, filling gaps. My approach: to assume role redesign is part of the operating model. What this looks like in practice: we separate what must remain human-owned from what should become machine-assisted, and revisit that boundary on a cadence. We make “ownership” explicit, who is accountable for the outcome, who reviews decisions, what happens when the system is uncertain, and where escalation goes when no one is available to respond. The goal is to preserve growth, judgment, and accountability while the execution layer keeps getting cheaper. If you do not redesign roles deliberately, they will still change. You just will not like what they change into because you won’t be ready for it.

The Real Cause of Burnout Isn’t Overwork—It’s Lack of Purpose Burnout is not just about long hours—it’s about misaligned priorities. We often blame burnout on overwork. Yes, endless deadlines, back-to-back meetings, and late-night emails play a role. But let’s dig deeper. Burnout doesn’t come from doing too much; it comes from doing too much of what doesn’t matter to you. Here’s the truth: When your work aligns with a purpose, even the longest days feel meaningful. But when your efforts lack direction, every task drains you. A recent Gallup study found that employees with a clear sense of purpose are 4 times more likely to be engaged at work and far less likely to report burnout. Ask yourself: 1. Are you working towards a goal that excites you, or just checking boxes? 2. Do you see the impact of your work, or does it feel like a treadmill going nowhere? The shift: Burnout isn’t solved by taking more breaks or managing time better—it’s solved by finding clarity in why you work. Start with this simple step: write down one thing your work helps accomplish that matters to you. Purpose energizes. Misalignment exhausts. What’s one small change you can make today to realign your work with what truly matters? Share your thoughts below. #productivity #workculture

The real sign of burnout isn’t exhaustion. It isn’t the long hours either. 👉 It’s when you start living life in countdown mode. Every. Single. Day. Which was something I used to do a lot when I was still at Wall Street. Because back then, I was the Queen of Counting Down. Counting down: ⏰ Until my lunch break - returning to my desk only at 1.59pm ⏰ Until 7pm - when I would leave the office (having already packed my bags at 6pm!) ⏰ Until the weekend - which would always vanish in a blink The days felt painfully long. The months, frustratingly short. Back then, I used to think that it was because I was just overworked. The burnout was inevitable! Yet the truth wasn’t in the hours. I wasn’t being that overworked. I did have a weekend, a life, and even great colleagues and bosses to work with back then! Instead, the burnout came because of misalignment. Because I was spending all my working hours doing work that I didn’t enjoy. I’ll explain in another way: Think about the last time you were in the ‘flow zone’. Maybe you were painting, coding or writing. (Or for me - coaching!) You blink, and it’s 8pm. The entire floor is dark, everyone has gone home. You never once, throughout the day, took a peek at the clock. Because in moments like that when you’re in the zone? You’ve found career alignment. That thing that you could do for 10-12 hours a day, and feel energized even when the clock hits 11pm. That's the difference between misalignment and flow: ❌ Misaligned work: "Ugh, can I just get out of here?"  ✅ Aligned work: "Oh wow, the day's over? I could keep going..." No luxury vacation can fix this fundamental mismatch. You’re just putting a band-aid on a gaping wound. So if you’re tired of living in a countdown, here’s where I would start: Step 1. Recognise the real problem  Your burnout isn't a time-management issue; it's an energy-alignment issue. Stop treating symptoms (with vacations) and start addressing the root cause. Step 2. Audit your “flow” triggers What activities make you lose track of time? Your energy is giving you valuable data about what your ideal work looks like. Step 3. Stop romanticizing the struggle  Constantly feeling drained isn't a badge of honor. Life is too short to spend 40+ hours a week counting down the clock. Step 4. Invest in a solution, not just an escape A vacation gives you a week of relief. Finding aligned work gives you a lifetime of engagement. The solution to burnout isn’t always to work less. It’s to find work that feels less like a countdown and more like a calling. P/S: I know it’s easier said than done. If you’d like help figuring it out, DM me 'BURNOUT' to get started.

We've all seen it: brilliant professionals climbing the ladder, snagging impressive titles... but silently dreading Mondays. They're chasing the next promotion, not fulfilment. It's the "climb without aligning" trap. You achieve success on paper, but your soul feels empty. This often leads to burnout, disengagement, or even a complete breakdown. I recently worked with Vishakha. Vishakha was a VP at a top firm, outwardly successful. Internally, she was exhausted, feeling like an impostor. We dug deep. It turned out her true passion was sustainable tech, not corporate finance. Her "dream job" was draining her. I went beyond the resume. We explored core values, intrinsic motivations, and long-term aspirations. It's about figuring out what truly energises you, not just what looks good on a business card. Before the burnout hits, before the breakdown, let's talk. Realigning your career with your purpose isn't a luxury; it's a necessity for sustainable growth and genuine happiness. Don't just climb. Align. Your career should empower you, not exhaust you. #CareerGrowth #PurposeDrivenCareer #BurnoutPrevention #CareerAlignment #ProfessionalDevelopment

Ever wonder how to shift from outputs to outcomes in a mixed project-product environment? This is actually a very common challenge, let’s break it down… Many companies start moving towards a product operating model in pieces instead of the whole organization. Sounds tricky? It is. But here's the way forward. Transitioning to outcomes is a learning process, it doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time and effort to align leadership, especially when they're stuck in project management mode. Leadership might ask, "Why fund this for longer when we could just complete projects and move on?" The answer lies in communication. You must articulate the value of looking beyond one-off projects to building products that evolve and offer ongoing solutions. Emphasize that managing products isn't about creating new features constantly, but about developing software that meets broader needs, reducing costs, and enhancing scalability. Start small. Make your product team a niche of success. Show how your approach delivers better products that customers love. Share those success stories across your company to stir excitement and advocate for a broader adoption of the product model. Not everything needs to be productized. Identify which parts of the business benefit most from a product approach and focus there. This clarity helps draw a line between projects and products, paving the way for smoother transitions. Lead by example. As your team succeeds, alignment on budgeting, strategy, and cross-functional collaboration becomes the norm. It's about fostering a product culture that connects strategy to execution, ensuring that the organization's goals are met through continuous improvement and learning. Good luck, and remember, transformation is a journey, not a destination. 🚀
