From Training to Learning: Embracing Continuous #Growth as Professionals Over the years, my journey in Learning and Development (L&D) has shown me how crucial it is to understand the evolution from "training" to "learning." While the two terms are often used interchangeably, they represent distinct paths in professional growth, and recognizing their differences can make all the #difference in one’s #career. 🏁Training was where I started—focused, structured sessions designed to teach specific skills or tasks required for a particular job scenario. 🖊️Whether it was guiding a team on using new software, handling customer inquiries more effectively, or ensuring safety compliance, training has always been about immediate application. 🖊️It’s essential, no doubt, but it’s only one part of the puzzle. 🏁Learning, on the other hand, is a broader, more continuous process. 🖊️It goes beyond the confines of a training room or an online module. 🖊️Learning involves absorbing and retaining information, expanding one’s knowledge, and developing new perspectives over time. 🖊️It’s about preparing for future challenges, embracing curiosity, and being proactive in one’s growth journey. 🖊️This shift from just training to fostering a culture of continuous learning has been transformative in my own career. 👩💻🧑💻My Advice to Fellow Professionals: Don’t just stop at training. 💥Use it as a foundation, but aim higher. 💥Grasp every learning opportunity that comes your way—whether it’s through mentorship, cross-departmental projects, or even self-directed study. 💥The most successful professionals I've seen are those who never stop learning, who see every challenge as a chance to grow. 💢Remember: Training equips you for the present, but continuous learning prepares you for the future. Embrace both, and you’ll be ready for whatever comes next. 💢How do you balance training and learning in your career journey? 💢Let’s share and inspire each other to keep growing!

Watching young talent take bold risks made me think about the importance of nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset internally. Many organizations speak about innovation, yet their structures unintentionally restrict it. True entrepreneurship does not come from slogans or training sessions. It emerges when people are trusted to make decisions, take ownership, and challenge long-standing assumptions. When individuals feel responsible for outcomes rather than simply completing tasks, their entire perspective shifts. They begin to move with more confidence, think with greater ambition, and pursue ideas with the same determination you would expect from a founder. The biggest obstacle to internal entrepreneurship is unnecessary friction. Too many layers, slow approvals, and an environment that treats mistakes as failures quietly discourage initiative. In contrast, companies that allow space for calculated risk, value learning as much as results, and give teams visibility into the broader business naturally develop people who operate with a sense of ownership. The future belongs to organizations that enable this mindset. Leadership can emerge from any corner of a company when people are encouraged to question, explore, and build. Innovation becomes sustainable only when it is embedded in the culture, not imposed from above. Remember, real momentum begins when people shift from acting as employees to thinking as founders!

The most important competence for building a sustainable DTC strategy: Data-Driven Customer Insights. Over the last decade direct-to-consumer marketers have suffered a 15% CAGR in CPM inflation for digital #advertising, according to research by Frederic Fernandez & Associates, dramatically increasing cost per acquisition. #DTC companies hence need to much better understand their target consumers, their path-to-purchase metrics, barriers/ drivers/ triggers & 4Ps preferences, and design a new omnichannel acquisition strategy. In my view, its time for DTC companies to build truly immersive and personalized customer acquisition strategies based on data driven customer insights. Data-driven customer insights are essential in the following 5 marketing areas: 🙋 Understanding Customer Behavior: To create personalized experiences, brands need to understand their customers' behaviors, preferences, and pain points. #Data analytics enables companies to track and analyze customer interactions across all touchpoints, providing deep insights into their journey and decision-making processes. 🎯 Personalization at Scale: Leveraging customer data allows brands to segment their audience and deliver tailored content, offers, and recommendations. This level of #personalization can significantly enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty, as consumers are more likely to engage with content that is relevant to their needs and interests. 📢 Optimizing Marketing Efforts: Data insights help brands to optimize their #marketing strategies and campaigns. By analyzing which tactics are most effective, companies can allocate resources more efficiently and improve their return on investment. ❤️ Enhancing Customer Engagement: Real-time data analysis enables brands to engage with customers at the right moment with the right message. This timely #engagement can drive higher conversion rates and foster a stronger emotional connection with the brand. 📈 Continuous Improvement: Data-driven #insights provide a feedback loop that allows brands to continuously refine their products, services, and customer interactions. This iterative process helps in adapting to changing customer expectations and market trends. By investing in data collection, advanced analytics, and skilled personnel, #DTC companies can create truly immersive and personalized customer experiences that drive engagement and loyalty.

A few years ago, I found myself in a new role that required skills I didn’t yet have. With no formal training or mentor to guide me, I had to figure it out on my own. By observing colleagues, asking questions, and exploring resources like blogs and tutorials, I gradually gained the skills I needed. This experience taught me that some of the most valuable lessons come not from structured teaching but from staying curious, adaptable, and proactive. I’m sharing some of my learnings to embrace continuous learning at work—even when there’s no clear teacher. 1. Learn Through Experience Imagine a situation when a project that initially failed due to unforeseen client demands. This is a clear sign of not involving stakeholders right from the word go and clear communication through documentation along with expectation setting. If you have ever faced a situation like this, leverage the past experience and build on. 2. Learn From Your Colleagues In the workplace, anyone can be a teacher. Observing and collaborating with peers, managers, or even subordinates can reveal new techniques, perspectives, or skills you might not discover alone. The key is to stay open and receptive. 3. Learn From Situations Not all lessons come from people. Challenges like tight deadlines, organisational changes, or crises can teach resilience, adaptability, and resourcefulness. Observing how you navigate these situations helps you identify areas for growth and improvement. 4. Embrace Self-Learning When there’s no formal teacher, take charge of your learning journey. Seek out books, online courses, blogs, or podcasts. Experiment with tools and approaches. By taking ownership, you turn uncertainty into an opportunity for growth. 5. Cultivate a Learning Mindset A learning mindset transforms ordinary moments into opportunities for improvement. Stay curious, ask questions, and embrace the process of unlearning and relearning as needed. Being adaptable and reflective ensures continuous growth. Continuous learning doesn’t always follow a clear path or involve formal lessons. The most meaningful growth often happens through self-discovery, collaboration, and adaptability. By staying open-minded and proactive, you can uncover opportunities to learn and grow in every experience. So, even when it feels like no one is explicitly teaching you, remember this: every challenge, interaction, and situation has a lesson to offer. The key is to stay curious, take action, and keep moving forward. Start where you are, learn from what’s around you, and let our journey of growth unfold.

If your web analytics strategy still focuses only on pageviews and bounce rates, you may be measuring the past—not the customer journey of today. The digital world has changed. Customer behavior has changed. And the way businesses understand their audience must evolve too. 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐰𝐞𝐛 𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 is no longer just about tracking clicks and sessions. It is about understanding intent, context, and customer needs. The future of analytics is moving towards: 🔹𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐫 Understanding why customers engage, not just what they click. 🔹𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐎𝐧𝐞-𝐒𝐢𝐳𝐞-𝐅𝐢𝐭𝐬-𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐓𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬 Building flexible ecosystems that bring together the right data sources. 🔹𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭-𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐝-𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 Creating direct relationships with customers through trusted data strategies. 🔹𝐂𝐨𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 Finding patterns that help businesses make smarter marketing and product decisions. The companies that succeed will not be the ones collecting the most data. They will be the ones who understand their data better and turn insights into action faster. 👉 Analytics is no longer just a reporting function. It is a strategic advantage. How is your organization evolving its analytics approach? #WebAnalytics #DigitalAnalytics #DataStrategy #MarketingAnalytics #DigitalTransformation #Analytics #BusinessIntelligence #FirstPartyData

The strongest advantage an entrepreneur can build is the ability to learn with depth and speed. Learning to learn sounds simple, yet it is one of the most underrated skills in entrepreneurship. I have seen extraordinary leaders grow because they treat learning as a daily discipline, not a reaction to gaps or crises. When you train your mind to absorb, question and act, your progress compounds quietly and consistently. Over the years, I have observed a framework that strengthens this capability. 1. Reading Reading exposes you to minds you may never meet and experiences you may never live. It expands your thinking and sharpens your worldview. It also deepens your understanding of patterns, behaviour and strategy. 2. Asking questions Questions reveal depth. They bring clarity to situations that appear complex. When you ask with sincerity, you understand context, motivation and consequence in a way passive observation never allows. 3. Having reference points from other journeys Every leader is better off with benchmarks that stretch their imagination. When you study someone else’s journey, you gain perspective on scale, resilience and decision making. Reference points help you lift your ambition and refine your own path. 4. Curiosity and multiple whys Curiosity keeps you from accepting the first explanation offered. The habit of asking why repeatedly uncovers assumptions, reveals blind spots and leads you to the real root of a problem or opportunity. 5. Taking action frequently Action sharpens understanding far faster than prolonged planning. Many people freeze in analysis. Entrepreneurs grow when they act, learn from that action and act again. This rhythm is far more powerful than waiting for perfect conditions. When these five behaviours come together, you strengthen your unique ability. You become adaptable, aware and ready for the pace at which the world moves today. #leadership #growth #motivation #inspiration #success

🎯 Why Most Business Problems Remain Unsolved (And How to Fix That) Last week, I had the privilege of facilitating a Problem Solving & Business Acumen workshop for our teams at L'Oréal Indonesia. 💡 The Problem We All Face (But Rarely Talk About) Here's an uncomfortable truth: we're wired to jump to solutions. In business, this looks like: ✔️ Launching promotions without understanding why sales declined ✔️ Hiring more people without diagnosing process inefficiencies ✔️ Copying competitor tactics without validating if they fit our context The cost? Wasted resources, frustrated teams, and recurring problems that never truly go away. According to the World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs Report 2023, analytical and critical thinking are the #1 and #2 most important skills for workers. Yet, most of us were never formally taught how to think critically or solve problems systematically. 🛠️ The Problem-Solving Process: A Step-by-Step Guide Step 1: Define the Problem (Don't Jump to Judgment!) 📝 Craft a Problem Statement with 6 components: "How can [responsible party] improve/reduce [reality] to meet [expectation] within [timeline] without [anti-goals], in order to fulfill [reason]?" Example: "How can the product team launch a new product on time in Q4 2024 without sacrificing key processes, in order to meet the sales target?" Step 2: Find Alternatives (Issue Tree + MECE) Once the problem is clear, break it down using an Issue Tree. For instance, if mascara sales dropped -14% YoY: 📦 Placement → Gondola compliance, visibility, signage 🎁 Promotion → BOGO mechanics, POS materials 💰 Price → Elasticity, perceived value 🎨 Product Claims → Content freshness, reviews 🔥 Competition → Share of voice, endcap presence ✅ Ensure hypotheses are MECE (Mutually Exclusive, Collectively Exhaustive)—no overlaps, no gaps. Step 3: Test Your Hypotheses Don't fall in love with your first idea. Run quick tests: 📊 For a skincare serum declining in pharmacies, we tested: ✔️ Hypothesis A: Reduced pharmacist advocacy is the issue → Micro-detailing pilot in 10 stores ✔️ Hypothesis B: Cold chain OOS drives lost sales → Warehouse SOP audit + temperature logs ✔️ Hypothesis C: Execution gaps suppress promo ROI → Endcap compliance audit Each hypothesis had clear KPIs and timelines—no guessing, just data. Step 4: Make the Decision (Impact vs. Effort Matrix) Not all solutions are equal. Prioritize: 🟩 Quick wins—do this! 🟦 Strategic bets 🟨 Fill-ins 🟥 Avoid Focus on low effort, high impact moves first. Build momentum, then tackle the big bets. 🚨 What Happens When We Skip These Steps? A mascara brand saw sales drop -14% YoY. The reaction? "Let's run a BOGO promo!" The result? Sales stayed flat. Why? Because the real issues were: ❌ Poor gondola compliance (only 68% correct facings) ❌ Weak influencer share of voice ❌ Competitor secured prime endcap space The lesson: Solutions applied to the wrong problem = wasted budget and missed targets.
